The Paneristi will be delighted: at Watches and Wonders 2025, Panerai celebrates the legacy of the Luminor Marina— perhaps the most quintessential wristwatch of this storied brand with ties to the Italian Navy— with a new generation. Comprising of titanium and steel executions and water-resistant to 500 meters for the first time, the line up is equipped with the new Caliber P.980. Both the cases and the movement are distinguished by new features while preserving the core identity of its signature aesthetics, reliability, and functionality.

The key elements remain the same–from the signature safety lock system to the luminous dial in sandwich style–but show subtle upgrades. The clean dial with the brand’s name and ‘Luminor Marina’ writing has now an enlarged and beveled date window. For the first time in Panerai’s core collection, this series utilizes the Super-LumiNova X2, which provides an increased brightness.

At the heart of the Luminor Marina series is the new P.980 caliber with a three-day power reserve stored in one barrel and a frequency of 4 Hz. The self-winding movement is equipped with a traversing balance bridge for enhanced stability and performance accuracy. The P.980 features a stop-second function, allowing for precise time-setting by halting the seconds hand when the crown lever is pulled out. Additionally, it has undergone six-position testing to ensure reliable chronometric performance.

Thanks to the caliber’s sleeker proportions, measuring just 4.2 mm in height, the height of the 44-mm case has been reduced by 12 percent while maintaining its bold identity.

Luminor Marina Titanio

The Luminor Marina Titanio (PAM003325) features a brushed-finished case crafted from Grade 5 titanium combined with an olive green, sun ray dial reminiscent of Panerai’s military origins. The brand’s longstanding use of this corrosion and wear resistant metal dates back to the 1980s when it created the Millemetri prototype. Panerai reintroduced titanium into its collection in 1998 with the Submersible PAM00025, selected for its corrosion resistance, which made it particularly suited for Navy applications, where equipment regularly encounters seawater.

The PAM003325 is equipped with a dark green Scamosciato calf strap and a second dark green rubber strap. Pricing is marked at $9,700 without sales tax.

Luminor Marina

Exceptionally robust, the Luminor Marina, available in four executions, is crafted from Panerai’s premium AISI 316LVM – 1.4441 stainless steel alloy known for its strength and corrosion resistance. Consisting of iron with 16-18% chromium, 11-14% nickel, and 2-3% molybdenum, it is vacuum arc remelted to maximize purity and improved resistance to corrosion.

The Luminor Marina PAM03323 introduces two premieres into the series–a light blue shade for the sun-brushed dial and a V-shaped bracelet design. Tapering from the case to the buckle, it offers a lighter feel for everyday wear.

Its aesthetic is characterized by a brushed finish on the interior links and a polished finish on the edges, creating a three-dimensional effect as the light hits the links in different ways. This is also the first model with the new "Quick-Length-Adjustment" feature, allowing the bracelet to be extend by two two mm on each side, and the "PAM-Click-Release System" for effortless strap changes.

The Luminor Marina is also available in three strap iterations, starting with PAM03312 with a traditional black dial paired with a black alligator strap. A more colorful touch is offered by PAM03313 with a sun-brushed blue dial and blue alligator strap, while PAM03314 has a white dial and black alligator strap. Each variant also includes a second rubber strap in matching colors.

Pricing starts at $8,800 without sales tax.
