Laurent Ferrier Presents the Sport Traveller Slate Grey

The Sport Traveller Slate Grey extends Laurent Ferrier’s Sport collection with a model that prioritizes everyday functionality over complexity. Following earlier Sport references such as the Grand Sport Tourbillon and Sport Auto, this new watch focuses on travel utility, particularly through its simple and direct dual-time system, which is operated by two pushers on the left side of the case. Each press advances or reverses the local hour hand in one-hour increments, allowing quick adjustment when changing time zones. The movement continues running during these adjustments. Home time is permanently displayed in a separate aperture at 9 o’clock, while the date at 3 o’clock is linked to local time. This separation keeps the two time references clearly distinguishable.

The slate gray dial features an opaline surface that reduces glare and enhances readability. The layout is organized around its functions rather than symmetry: central local time, home time at 9 o’clock, date at 3 o’clock, and small seconds at 6 o’clock. All printed elements are executed in a subdued powder-gray tone. The watch is fitted with the brand’s characteristic Assegai-shaped hands, here in white gold and filled with green Super-LumiNova, ensuring strong visibility in low-light conditions. 

Inside is the in-house automatic caliber LF275.01, operating at 4 Hz with a power reserve of approximately 72 hours. It features a Swiss lever escapement and a beautifully decorated off-centered micro-rotor in 950 platinum. The movement architecture is designed for efficiency and slimness while maintaining a striking level of traditional finishing. Bridges are decorated with horizontal satin brushing and ruthenium treatment, complemented by hand-finished bevels, polished surfaces, and interior angles, all executed in the brand’s workshops.

The watch is housed in a 42mm cushion-shaped case crafted from grade 5 titanium, chosen for its balance of lightness and durability on the wrist. It measures 13.3mm in thickness and is water-resistant to 100 metres. The case combines brushed, polished, and satin-finished surfaces, giving it a distinctly technical, tool-oriented character. A domed sapphire crystal sits above the dial, while the screw-down crown is integrated into the case flank to preserve both ergonomics and robustness. The integrated titanium bracelet continues the same finishing language, flowing seamlessly from the case. Pricing is marked at CHF61,000 or approximately $78,000 when converted to USD.
