Oris Introduces the Aquis Date Kelp Forest Limited Edition
Inspired by life beneath the waves
With the new Aquis Date Kelp Forest Limited Edition, Oris continues its long-standing commitment to ocean conservation and the protection of threatened habitats and species. The focus is on kelp forests, underwater ecosystems that provide food and shelter for a wide range of marine life while also absorbing significant amounts of carbon.
The inspiration for the 1,000-piece limited edition came from Francis Pérez, an award-winning underwater photographer and longtime Oris ambassador. During more than 25 years of working beneath the surface, Pérez has witnessed the decline of these remarkable ecosystems firsthand, prompting him to encourage Oris to raise awareness of the growing threats they face.

OrisA Shimmering Underwater Landscape
The 41.5mm Aquis Date provides the technical foundation for the new edition. As with other limited Oris releases dedicated to environmental protection, particular attention has been paid to the dial. Its textured surface shimmers in shades of green and gold, recalling the movement of kelp swaying in underwater currents. The hands and hour markers are coated with Super-LumiNova for legibility in varying light conditions, both above and below the water. A date display at 3 o’clock completes the dial.

The stainless-steel case is water-resistant to 30 bar, or 300 meters. Its screw-down crown is protected by guards integrated into the case. A unidirectional rotating bezel with a green ceramic insert and minute scale provides a practical tool for timing dives. The dial is protected by a double-domed sapphire crystal with an internal antireflective coating.
