Introducing the Hanhart 417 ES Mokka Flyback Date
Hanhart takes to the road with the 417 ES Mokka Flyback Date, an exclusive edition created in collaboration with Porsche Fahrer magazine. Revisiting the 417 ES, which was originally designed for pilots, the limited release comes with a dial in a refined mocha brown hue with applied white numerals, the classic bicompax layout and a date indication at 6 o'clock. A smooth bezel complements the flowing lines of the 42mm stainless steel case (13.5mm thick), combining satin-finished and polished surfaces. The luminescent dial is protected by a highly domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, making for clear view and highlighting the tool-watch character.

At its heart beats the hand-wound AMT5100 M from Sellita’s Manufacture AMT division, a traditional column-wheel chronograph with flyback function, date, small seconds, 30-minute counter, and a 58-hour power reserve, which can be admired through the exhibition case back. Operating at 4 Hz (28,800 vph), the movement includes shock protection and is carefully regulated in Hanhart’s manufacture for daily accuracy between 0 and +8 seconds.

True to Hanhart’s pilot chronograph tradition, the 417 ES Mokka Flyback Date features the signature red pusher. Legend has it that a pilot’s beloved once painted his chronograph pusher red so he would think of her and return safely. Historically, the red marking served a practical purpose: to prevent accidental resetting of elapsed time, especially important on flyback chronographs, which allow immediate restart of timing with a single push. Today, the red HyCeram pusher serves the same purpose and is a charming facet of Hanhart's storied history.

HanhartThe watch is available with a dark brown calfskin leather strap with Alcantara lining or a stainless-steel bracelet. The leather strap features a historical underband, echoing pilot watches from the 1960s and 70s. Originally, the underband protected the wrist from direct contact with softer case materials such as copper or brass, which could cause irritation. Now, it lives on as a historical aesthetic detail. Thanks to the quick-change system, the underband can be swapped in seconds, offering flexibility between a classic vintage look and contemporary simplicity. The 417 ES Mokka Flyback Date is available now from Hanhart’s website and priced at €2,690 or approximately $3,110 on the leather strap, and €2,890 or $3,340 on the bracelet.
