Girard-Perregaux x Williams F1: The Laureato Goes Racing

Girard-Perregaux and the Atlassian Williams F1 Team mark their new partnership with two Laureato models featuring blue Clous de Paris dials and manufacture calibers.

Girard-Perregaux and Atlassian Williams F1 Team are joining forces for a new collaboration. The first results are the Laureato Williams Edition 42mm and Laureato Chronograph Williams Edition 42mm. The partnership connects two histories that began only two years apart. Girard-Perregaux introduced the Laureato in 1975, establishing its interpretation of the luxury integrated-bracelet sports watch. Williams entered Formula 1 in 1977. Both have since evolved through changes in technology, materials and design while retaining their respective identities.

For the new editions, Williams references are incorporated into the established Laureato architecture rather than replacing it. Both watches feature 42mm steel cases, integrated bracelets, and 100-meter water resistance. The octagonal bezel and the alternation of polished and satin-finished surfaces remain central to the design.

Blue Dials with Racing Details

The blue dials feature the signature Clous de Paris pattern that has distinguished the Laureato from the beginning. The colorway is inspired by the Williams FW48, the team’s 2026 Formula 1 car. Red accents on the seconds hand and the running seconds of the chronograph echo more details of the racing car. Another reference is a discreet Williams “W” that replaces the hour marker at 12 o’clock. Additionally, the sapphire crystal case backs are marked by a metallized Williams emblem, providing the most visible reference to the partnership on the reverse. As characteristic of the Laureato, rhodium-plated baton-shaped indexes and hands provide a crisp contrast against the blue dial, with Superluminova filling ensuring clear legibility in low-light conditions.

Two Manufacture Movements

The Laureato Williams Edition 42mm is powered by the self-winding GP1800. The manufacture caliber consists of 191 components and operates at 28,800 vph or 4 Hz. It provides a minimum power reserve of 54 hours and offers a date indication at 3 o'clock, which is color-coordinated to the Williams blue of the dial.

The Laureato Chronograph Williams Edition 42mm houses the GP3300, a self-winding movement comprising 419 components and 63 jewels. They support the chronograph, date, hours, minutes and small seconds, with a minimum power reserve of 46 hours. Both movements can be viewed through sapphire crystal case backs. Their meticulous decoration includes Côtes de Genève, circular graining, beveling, mirror polishing, satin finishing, engraving, sunray finishing and snailing.

Polished and Satin-Finished Steel

The cases and integrated bracelets are finished with a combination of polished and satin-brushed surfaces, highlighting the architecture of the Laureato. The Chronograph Williams Edition is crafted from 904L steel, while the Laureato Williams Edition uses stainless-steel. The three-dimensional interplay of finishes continues across the integrated bracelets, which are secured by triple-folding clasps.
