Girard-Perregaux Celebrates 50 Years of the Laureato with Four Refined Anniversary Models
New dials, new case size, and a remarkable movement
Few luxury sports watches have maintained such a consistent design identity over five decades as the Laureato. Introduced in 1975, the Girard-Perregaux icon has evolved through successive generations while preserving the architectural elements that define its character: an octagonal bezel set atop a circular plinth, a tonneau-shaped case, and an integrated bracelet. To celebrate the model’s 50th anniversary which took place in 2025, Girard-Perregaux presents the Laureato Fifty collection, a quartet of new references that focus on craftsmanship, proportion, and mechanical refinement rather than radical reinvention.
The anniversary collection comprises four stainless-steel models in two case sizes. Alongside the 39mm format introduced last fall, Girard-Perregaux now adds a new 36mm version that echoes the balanced proportions of earlier Laureato generations while broadening the collection’s appeal. Across all references, the emphasis is placed on elevated dial execution, improved comfort, and the latest evolution of the manufacture’s automatic movement.

Girard-PerregauxArtisanal Dials Take Center Stage
The most technically ambitious model of the collection is undoubtedly the Laureato Fifty Selfwinding 39mm with blue enamel dial. For the first time within the Laureato family, Girard-Perregaux applies a translucent enamel layer over its signature “Clous de Paris” guilloché-inspired texture. Produced entirely in-house, the dial displays remarkable depth and constantly changing reflections, creating a visual effect more commonly associated with traditional dress watches than integrated-bracelet sports models.

Girard-PerregauxA second 39mm reference showcases an 18-karat gold dial finished with the same Clous de Paris motif. The precious-metal surface interacts dynamically with light, emphasizing the geometric structure of the dial while adding warmth and richness to the Laureato’s character. Unlike the enamel version, this model includes a date display at 3 o’clock, which is color-coordinated with black numerals on a gold background.

Girard-PerregauxTwo New 36mm Iteration
For the first time in the current generation of the Laureato, Girard-Perregaux introduces a 36mm case size. The manufacture positions this new dimension not as a smaller alternative, but as a return to proportions that many collectors associate with the elegance and versatility of the original design. One version features the same 18-karat gold dial found in the larger model, while a second reference pairs a silver-toned Clous de Paris dial with a bezel set with 64 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling approximately 0.55 carats.

Girard-PerregauxPowered by a New Manufacture Movement
All four models are equipped with the manufacture’s new automatic Caliber GP4800. Operating at 4 Hz and offering a 60-hour power reserve, the movement continues Girard-Perregaux’s tradition of in-house development and finishing. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the caliber features a distinctive architecture inspired by the brand’s historic Three Bridges design. Exclusive to the Laureato Fifty collection is a rose-gold balance bridge, adding visual warmth and depth to the movement. The caliber is finished with an impressive range of traditional decorative techniques, including Geneva stripes, anglage, circular graining, sunray brushing, snailing, engraving, and polishing.
