Introducing the Tissot Visodate
Everyday elegance, refined
Few designs have balanced practicality and elegance as consistently as the Visodate. First introduced in 1954 as one of the Tissot’s earliest watches with a clearly readable date display, the model has long embodied a discreet, functional approach to dress watch design. Now, Tissot revisits the concept of the every-day elegant companion with a series of updated Visodate references that retain the clarity and proportion of the original while adapting key elements for contemporary use.

TissotAt 39mm in diameter and just 10.45mm in height, the new Visodate remains notably wearable, aligning with current preferences for moderate case sizes without sacrificing presence. The round case, crafted from 316L stainless steel, is paired with a box-shaped sapphire crystal. Water resistance is rated to 50 meters (5 bar), underlining the Visodate’s suitability for everyday use rather than strictly formal occasions.
Powermatic 80
TissotInside, the Visodate is powered by the automatic Powermatic 80 caliber, visible through a sapphire case back. Paced at 21,600 vibrations per hour, the movement delivers a power reserve of up to 80 hours and features a Nivachron balance spring, designed to improve resistance to magnetic fields and temperature fluctuations.

TissotThe new Visodate line is offered in three variations, each maintaining the same architecture while presenting a different visual character. A silver-toned dial with gold-colored indexes and a brown leather strap leans most directly into the model’s mid-century roots, emphasizing warmth and traditional elegance. A second version introduces a deep blue dial with a subtle texture, paired with a steel “grains of rice” bracelet, lending the watch a slightly more contemporary and versatile appearance. The third option combines the same bracelet with a black dial. Across all versions, the domed dial features a combination of circular and vertical brushing, creating a nuanced play of light. The applied indexes and dauphine hands are treated with Supeluminova for legibility in low-light conditions, while the prominent yet balanced framed date window at 3 o’clock remains a defining element— faithful to the Visodate’s original promise of immediate readability.

TissotPriced at $850 on a leather strap and $950 with a stainless-steel bracelet, the new Visodate positions itself as an accessible entry into Swiss mechanical watchmaking, without compromising on technical substance or design coherence.
