Tissot Revs Up with Two New T-Race MotoGP Chronographs

The limited edition self-winding T-Race MotoGP Automatic Chronograph and the T-Race MotoGP Quartz Chronograph channel the adrenaline of motorcycle racing into bold design and precise timekeeping, each in its own distinctive way, yet united by a shared commitment to performance.

The partnership between Tissot and MotoGP spans more than two decades: since 2001, the Swiss watchmaker has served as the championship’s official timekeeper. A key milestone came in 2003 with the launch of the first official MotoGP watch, laying the foundation for today’s T-Race MotoGP Limited Editions— among the sportiest timepieces in the brand’s portfolio. Tissot’s involvement extends far beyond watchmaking: since 2023, the brand has shaped race weekends with the Tissot Sprint, the high-intensity Saturday showdown, and presents the Tissot Pole Position Awards for outstanding qualifying performances. Its roots in motorsport run even deeper, dating back to the 1953 motorcycle Grand Prix in Bern and later reinforced through sponsorship of Swiss rider Philippe Coulon in the 1980s. This rich heritage is rekindled in the latest T-Race MotoGP models, whose design and materials draw direct inspiration from the world of high-performance racing machines. Crafted from 316L stainless steel, they feature luminescent dials and water resistance to 100 meters. They are also equipped with a tachymeter scale for measuring average speeds.

The technical flagship of the new releases is the T-Race MotoGP Automatic Chronograph Limited Edition, restricted to 2,026 pieces. Translating the mechanics of the racetrack into horology, the watch offers an unobstructed view of its “engine”, the skeletonized Valjoux A05.951 caliber— visible through both the dial and the transparent case back. Housed in a 45mm case, the chronograph features a black PVD-coated bezel with an insert in forged carbon, a lightweight high-tech material widely used in motorsport.

Complementing the mechanical edition is the T-Race MotoGP Quartz Chronograph Limited Edition, a bold and expressive timepiece. Its 45mm deep-black case frames a vivid red dial characterized by strong contrasts and a striking chronograph layout. Three prominent Arabic numerals structure the display, while the date is discreetly positioned between 4 and 5 o’clock.

The striking bezel, with its visible screws, draws on the technical design language of modern racing machines and underscores the watch’s distinctly sporty character. Inside, a quartz chronograph movement with an end-of-life (EOL) indicator ensures precise and reliable timekeeping. The expressive dark aesthetic is complemented by a black silicone strap. The T-Race MotoGP Quartz Chronograph Limited Edition is priced at $775.
