Oris Introduces the Hölstein Edition 2026

Every year on its birthday, Oris unveils a special watch dedicated to the enthusiasts who have helped shape the independent Swiss brand's success. What began in 2020 as a one-off celebration has evolved into one of the most anticipated annual releases among Oris collectors. The Hölstein Editions have earned a reputation for combining serious mechanics with a touch of personality, often hiding unexpected details beneath otherwise restrained exteriors. For 2026, Oris takes a new direction. The seventh Hölstein Edition is based on the recently re-launched Artelier collection, bringing the annual limited edition into more elegant territory while preserving the distinctive character that has defined the series from the start.

A New Canvas for the Hölstein Series

Since the first Hölstein Edition was launched in 2020, Oris has used the annual release as an opportunity to experiment with familiar designs, often introducing unexpected details, playful elements, or collector-focused features unavailable elsewhere in the catalog. The decision to base this year’s edition on the Artelier collection is significant. Introduced as a more refined and contemporary expression of Oris watchmaking, the Artelier represents the brand’s ongoing evolution beyond its traditional sports-watch territory. The Hölstein Edition 2026 offers enthusiasts a chance to experience that new design language through the lens of a highly exclusive limited edition. The time-only watch is housed in a multi-piece stainless-steel case measuring 39.5mm in diameter, 11.1mm thick, and 45.5 mm from lug to lug. The proportions strike a balance between contemporary presence and classic dress-watch wearability.

Its light-gray dial embraces the Artelier collection's refined aesthetic. Applied markers and cleanly arranged displays create an elegant appearance, while a mirror-finished small-seconds register at six o'clock introduces visual depth. The only bold accent comes from the vivid red small-seconds hand, a subtle detail that immediately draws the eye without disrupting the watch's otherwise monochromatic presentation.

Hours and minutes are indicated by hands filled with Superluminova, ensuring legibility in low-light conditions. Covering the dial is a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface.

Not to be Missed: the Oris Bear 

While the dial side remains restrained, the case back reveals the playful spirit that has become synonymous with the Hölstein Editions. A screwed stainless-steel caseback features a special insert decorated with rainbow-effect laser-treated details, including the beloved Oris Bear mascot. Collectors familiar with previous Hölstein Editions will recognize the bear as a recurring symbol of the brand's community-driven approach. Here, it provides a colorful surprise hidden from everyday view.

Inside beats the Oris Calibre 401, one of the cornerstone movements of the company's modern manufacture program. The automatic movement offers an impressive five-day power reserve, equivalent to 120 hours, and is engineered for high resistance to magnetic fields encountered in daily life. The caliber features a stop-seconds functionality and a fine-adjustment device. Oris regulates the movement to run within -3/+5 seconds per day, a level of performance that falls within COSC chronometer tolerances. As with all watches equipped with the Calibre 400 series, owners benefit from a 10-year warranty and recommended service intervals of 10 years when registering through the MyOris program.
