Chopard unveils a new iteration of its L.U.C 1963 Heritage Chronograph, distinguished by its striking deep Prussian Blue dial and limited to only 25 numbered pieces. This 42mm chronograph seamlessly blends Chopard’s proprietary Lucent Steel with the hand-wound L.U.C 03.07-L movement, a COSC-certified manufacture movement that proudly bears the Poinçon de Genève quality hallmark.

Prussian Blue Meets Lucent Steel

The 42mm Lucent Steel case stands at 11.48mm in height and features polished surfaces paired with vertically satin-brushed flanks and traditional pump-style chronograph pushers. Water resistance is rated to 50 meters. The cool sheen of the proprietary steel alloy makes for a beautiful backdrop for the new Prussian Blue dial finished with an off-centered sunburst surface and snailed subdials. Large, rounded numerals around the periphery mark the chronograph seconds scale, while the 30-minute and 12-hour counters are positioned between 2 and 3 o’clock and 9 and 10 o’clock, respectively. The 6 o’clock position is reserved for the small seconds indicated in sector-style. At 12 o’clock, beneath the L.U.C Chopard signature, the word “Chronometer” signifies the COSC certification.

Flyback Chronograph with 60-Hour Power Reserve

Inside the case is the L.U.C 03.07-L, a fully integrated, manually-wound chronograph movement comprising 283 components. Its architecture cleverly combines a column wheel with a vertical clutch and flyback function, enabling the chronograph to be reset and restarted with a single push. The movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a 60-hour power reserve. Its striking finishing includes untreated German silver bridges, a gilded mainplate, Côtes de Genève on the bridges and circular graining on the mainplate. The L.U.C 1963 Heritage Chronograph Prussian Blue is paired with a brown alligator leather strap and Lucent Steel pin buckle. Limited to 25 numbered examples, the watch will be available exclusively through Chopard boutiques for $40,000.
