To mark two decades since the establishment of the prestigious Qualité Fleurier certification, Chopard unveils a special anniversary edition of its L.U.C Qualité Fleurier timepiece. Crafted in ethical 18-carat yellow gold, this beautiful dress watch brings a graceful reinterpretation of a historic design to life, combining timeless style with modern precision.

The new model pays homage to the original L.U.C Qualité Fleurier watch introduced in 2005— an elegant creation itself inspired by a 1950s Chopard piece. With its 39mm case, slim profile of 8.9mm, welded lugs, and sophisticated sector-type dial, the watch echoes the minimalist elegance that defined Art Deco aesthetics and enjoyed a golden era from the 1920s to the 1960s. The sector dial, with its geometric layout and clean legibility, has experienced a revival in recent years, and this anniversary edition captures that spirit with finesse.

Its two-tone dial features a sunburst satin-brushed center, a circular satin-finished chapter ring, and a snailed small seconds sub dial at 6 o’clock. Gilded syringe-style hands glide over the dial, a signature nod to earlier L.U.C designs. Enhancing its vintage appeal is a supple brown calfskin strap with beige topstitching, lending a subtle sporty edge to the refined aesthetic.

At the heart of this exceptional timepiece lies the ultra-thin L.U.C Caliber 96.09-L, a direct descendant of the L.U.C 96.01-L launched in 1996, which helped define the modern era of the Chopard Manufacture. Measuring just 3.30mm thick, the self-winding movement boasts Chopard’s Twin technology with two stacked barrels providing a 65-hour power reserve and a micro-rotor crafted from ethical 22-carat gold. Impeccably decorated with Côtes de Genève, circular graining, hand-beveling, and mirror polishing, the movement embodies haute horlogerie craftsmanship at its finest.

As befits its status, the movement is double-certified: by the COSC for chronometric precision, and by the Qualité Fleurier Foundation— one of the most demanding certification bodies in Swiss watchmaking. To meet the Fleurier standard, the timepiece undergoes a trio of rigorous tests: COSC chronometry, the Chronofiable protocol for robustness and ageing, and the Fleuritest, a 24-hour simulation of real-world wrist wear. Only watches maintaining a daily deviation between 0 and +5 seconds throughout the process receive the coveted QF hallmark.

Established in 2001 by Chopard, Bovet, Parmigiani Fleurier, and Vaucher, the Qualité Fleurier label was born from a collective vision to elevate the transparency and standards of fine Swiss watchmaking. Today, Chopard remains the only manufacture still represented on the certification’s steering committee, underscoring its deep commitment to the prestigious designation.

The L.U.C Qualité Fleurier is a limited edition of 20 pieces. Pricing is marked at $32,300.
