Released at Dubai Watch Week 2023 is the new Chopard Alpine Eagle Summit collection. Perhaps the most elaborate and exquisitely finished iterations of Chopard’s integrated sport watch collection to date, the Alpine Eagle Summit collection consists of four precious metal models with gem-set bezels.

All done in a 41mm wide case that measures 9.7mm thick (100 m of water resistance), the Alpine Eagle Summit watches come in four varieties: yellow gold in “Golden Peak” dial with pink and white sapphire bezel; pink gold in “Pink Dawn” dial with orange-hued spessartites and white sapphires; white gold in “Vals Grey” dial with tsavorites and white sapphires; and finally, the most impressive of them all, a white gold model in “Zinal Blue” dial with blue and purple sapphires. All four of the Alpine Eagle Summit watches are done in ethical gold and house the COSC-certified Chopard 01.15-C movement which has a 60-hour power reserve.

This “Zinal Blue” dial is inspired by the natural colors of the Alpine Landscape, specifically the Blue Zinal glacier in the Swiss Alps. The magnificently vibrant dial seamlessly shifts from blue to purple as you move the dial, with no one shade or hue holding in place for more than a few moments. It is, without hyperbole, one of the most excellently finished dials I have seen in recent memory. Chopard achieves this by a PVD treatment that uses “target material pellets” placed across the dial. Rather than pigmentation, these colors come from specific gas mixtures with varying exposure times. And, of course, the deeply textured signature Alpine Eagle dial also plays a role in achieving the Zinal Blue effect.

Of course, the other three Alpine Eagle Summit dials are inspired by nature as well. The “Golden Peak” comes from the mountain found in the Swiss Alps, the “Vals Grey” is named after the quartzite stone found in the Canton of Graubünden and is often used to build the walls and roofs of homes in the village of Vals, and the “Pink Dawn” dial is simply inspired by the natural beauty of the sun’s early light rising over the mountains.
