Glashütte Original Serenade Luna Captures the Colors of the Sky

With a shimmering “Skyline Blue” mother-of-pearl dial, diamond-set bezel, and in-house automatic caliber with moon phase, Glashütte Original introduces a poetic yet technically accomplished new Serenade Luna.

Following a beautiful example of the Serenade Luna with a rich violet dial at the end of January, Glashütte Original once again expands this collection with a striking iteration. The latest Serenade Luna draws inspiration from the ever-changing tones of a city skyline. The new version in “Skyline Blue” translates reflections of glass façades and passing clouds into a finely crafted wristwatch that combines feminine elegance with mechanical substance. The dial is fashioned from ultra-thin mother-of-pearl and lacquered on its reverse with several layers of dark varnish. This construction gives the surface remarkable depth and a shifting palette that ranges from pale, silvery blue to smoky, dramatic hues depending on the light and viewing angle. The effect recalls the mirrored windows of high-rise buildings, where sky and architecture merge into a dynamic interplay of color.

The 32.5mm steel case frames this beauty of a dial with a bezel set with 48 brilliant-cut diamonds. The diamond hour markers are applied by hand, while delicate silver stars accent the prominent moon-phase display at 6 o’clock. The moon disk itself is also made of mother-of-pearl; four blue lacquered circles on its reverse create a sense of depth, and the celestial body appears in natural white through the overlapping aperture. The slender hands, the settings for the diamond indexes, and the frame of the moon-phase display are crafted from solid white gold, underscoring the watch’s refined execution.

Inside beats Glashütte Original's manufacture Caliber 35-14, visible through the sapphire case back. Boasting a power reserve of 60 hours, it operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and is equipped with a silicon balance spring that resists magnetic fields and temperature fluctuations. Traditional Glashütte finishing details include ribbing on the three-quarter plate, carefully beveled edges, a sunburst finish on the reduction wheel, a finely perlage-decorated track for the oscillating weight, polished and blued screws, and a solid-gold rotor plate embellished with a delicate shell motif. The Serenade Luna in “Skyline Blue” is priced at $15,100 on a Louisiana alligator leather strap and at $16,300 on the stainless-steel bracelet
