Breitling Unveils the Lady Premier

Breitling reinterprets its 1940s Premier Fantasies models with the new Lady Premier collection, blending sculptural design, radiant colors, and ethical materials into a modern expression of feminine elegance.

Long before men gave up their pocket watches, women had already embraced the wristwatch, helping to shape a new direction of Swiss watchmaking. Breitling’s history reflects this influence. In the 1940s, Willy Breitling elevated the chronograph from a mere technical instrument into a statement of style with the launch of the Premier line, even introducing one of the earliest chronographs designed specifically for women. His wife, Beatrice, played a key role as muse and creative influence in the brand’s product strategy.

The Lady Premier line is introduced in two sizes, 36mm and 32mm, both available in stainless steel cases, with or without lab-grown diamonds, that are water-resistant to 100 meters. The larger models, which include an 18k gold variant, house Breitling’s Caliber 10 automatic movement, while the smaller references are equipped with the brand’s SuperQuartz technology. Each watch combines COSC-certified precision with design details that balance heritage and modernity. The new design language is defined by fluid cases and expressive dials that shimmer like silk, enhanced by fine sunray brushing. Its architecture takes inspiration from the 1940s Premier Fantaisies models, with avant-garde lugs and a seamless transition from case to bracelet that give the watches a sculptural, modern presence while honoring its roots.

“Our signature style is modern retro. We started with an archival design that stirred emotion, and through updated curves, finishes, and tones, shaped it into something unmistakably up-to-date.”

Pablo Widmer, Head of Product Design at Breitling

The Lady Premier Automatic 36 is powered by the Breitling Caliber 10, a Sellita-based self-winding mechanical movement with a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, a power reserve of approximately 42 hours, and a COSC chronometer certificate. The case measures 36mm in diameter, 9.90mm in thickness, and 40.07mm from lug to lug. It is available in stainless steel, stainless steel with lab-grown diamonds, or 18-karat gold and features a screwed-in solid case back. Dial options include Aubergine, Sage, Dove Grey, and Chocolate. Depending on the version, the hour markers and hands are crafted in stainless steel or gold-plated. Each model is paired with an alligator-leather strap in a matching gradient color, secured by a folding clasp. Pricing is marked from
$5,450 to $16,300.

The Lady Premier 32-mm models are powered by the Breitling Caliber 77, a thermo-compensated SuperQuartz movement, which is certified by the COSC-certified for its high precision. The case is crafted in stainless steel or stainless steel with lab-grown diamonds. It measures 32mm wide, 8.90mm thick, and 36.08mm from lug to lug. Like the larger models, the case features a cambered sapphire crystal glareproofed on both sides and a solid screwed-in case back. Dial choices include mother-of-pearl, Ink Blue, and Midnight Black. The hour markers, along with the hour and minute hands, are executed in stainless steel or gold-plated. The models are fitted with a new tapered seven-row Chevron bracelet, whose V-shaped pattern offers a feminine interpretation of the more linear men’s Premier bracelet. It closes with a folding clasp. Prices range from $5,000 to $7,500.
