The frog is back, just in time for the Halloween season. With its wide-eyed expression, rotating pupils and crown-shaped winding crown, the Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin Unfrogettable is a great example of how watchmaking can have a deep sense of humor. Now, as the spooky season brings all kinds of creatures out into the open, the unmistakable character returns in two new colors: bright turquoise and warm brown. The watches retain the playful design and horizontal regulator display of the original, while introducing new color combinations across the dial, hands, and crown.

Same Frog, Different Mood

The Unfrogettable is immediately recognizable by its unusual interpretation of the regulator display. The hours are shown on a disc at 9 o’clock, while a central arrow-shaped hand indicates the minutes and a seconds disc occupies the 3 o’clock position. The hour and seconds discs form the frog’s eyes, with rotating pupils adding constant movement to the display.

At 6 o’clock, the inscription “Louis Erard ♥ Konstantin Chaykin” makes the collaborative character of the watch explicit. Green Superluminova accents provide visibility in the dark, including on the arrow-shaped minute hand. The Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin Unfrogettable Turquoise combines a light greenish-blue, grained dial base with dark blue-green counters and a two-tone minute ring in blue-green and violet. Rhodium-treated discs and hands keep the composition crisp, while the black-lacquered "pupils "add contrast.

The Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin Unfrogettable Brown takes a warmer approach. Its light brown grained base is paired with dark brown counters and an hour ring in dark brown and ochre. The discs, hand and crown receive a 5N treatment, adding a warm metallic tone to the predominantly earthy palette.

Grade 5 Titanium with a Royal Crown

The 40mm case measures 12.45mm in thickness and is made from Grade 5 titanium and combines satin-finished surfaces with polished curves. At 12 o’clock, the winding crown takes the shape of a small royal crown, reinforcing the playful character of the design. It is polished titanium on the turquoise version and receives a warm 5N PVD treatment on the brown model.

Sellita Regulator Movement

Powering both watches is the automatic Sellita SW266-1 caliber. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, or 4 Hz, it provides approximately 38 hours of power reserve and features a specially openworked oscillating weight with a black-lacquered Louis Erard symbol.

Japanese Leather with Urushi Finish

Both watches are fitted with black Himeji Kurozan leather, also known as "black diamond" leather. The calf leather is hand-rubbed, naturally tanned and finished with traditional Japanese Urushi lacquer, creating a combination of matte and glossy surfaces. The turquoise version adds violet stitching and a violet leather lining, while the brown model uses black throughout. Quick-release spring bars allow the strap to be changed without tools. The Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin Unfrogettable Turquoise and Brown are each limited to 178 pieces. Both are priced at CHF4,500 before tax or approximately $5,400 when converted to USD.
