The Longines Spirit Pilot Goes Blue

Longines is expanding its Spirit pilot's squad with two new blue-dial choices for 2026. The lineup comprises the Longines Spirit Pilot in 39mm ant the Longines Spirit Pilot Flyback, both equipped with Longines-exclusive COSC-certified movements. The latest additions bring a beautiful blue color way to the contemporary pilot-watch collection while retaining its historically aviation-inspired design. Longines’ connection to aviation dates back nearly a century. The brand supplied watches and instruments to pioneers including Amelia Earhart, Richard Byrd and Elinor Smith, with its timepieces accompanying early flights and expeditions in demanding conditions.

Longines Spirit Pilot

The time-only Longines Spirit Pilot was introduced in 2025 as a more refined interpretation of the brand’s modern pilot watch. For 2026, Longines adds another 39mm stainless-steel version with a matte blue dial. Silvered hands and applied Arabic numerals provide the contrast needed for quick reading, while the minute track reinforces the focused design. Like its predecessor, the new model forgoes a date display, preserving the clean, balanced layout. The slim, polished bezel further enhances this effect, giving the dial ample room to unfold the brand typical elegance, here in an instrument-like fashion. Superluminova on the numerals and hands ensures clear legibility in low-light conditions.

This timepiece is powered by the Longines Caliber L888.4, a self-winding movement equipped with a silicon balance spring and innovative components that provide magnetic resistance ten times greater than the ISO standard 764. The movement offers a 72-hour power reserve and holds official chronometer certification from the COSC, ensuring reliability worthy of professional aviators.

The bracelet version is priced at $3,100. The rubber-strap version costs $2,700.

Longines Spirit Pilot Flyback

The Longines Spirit Pilot Flyback takes the same blue treatment into chronograph territory. Like the time-only model lit was first introduced in 2025 with a black dial and returns for 2026 with a blue watch face. The stainless-steel case measures 39.5mm in diameter and features a bidirectional blue ceramic bezel with a pilot's triangle at 12 o'clock. The design follows the same aesthetic as the Longines Spirit Pilot, with the addition of two subdials: a small seconds counter at 9 o’clock and a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock. As with the three-hand model, Longines has opted to leave out a date display, preserving the balanced dial layout.

Providing up to 68 hours of autonomy, the watch is powered by Longines’ hand-wound Caliber L792.4, whose flyback chronograph functions are controlled by a column-wheel. COSC-certified, it also sports a silicon balance spring that provides superior magnetic resistance. The power reserve of up to 68 hours. Its finely finished architecture, including the column-wheel, can be admired through the transparent screw-down case back.

At 13.4mm thick, the case retains the compact proportions of the collection. Water resistance is rated at 100 meters. The Longines Spirit Pilot Flyback is available with either a bracelet and micro-adjustable folding clasp for $5,550 or a  rubber strap with a pin buckle and interchangeable strap system for $5,250.
