Omega Gets Ready for Paris 2024 with New Speedmaster Chronoscope (with One in Gold)
With less than three months to go before Paris 2024, Omega is counting down the days to the Olympic Games with two new Speedmaster Chronoscope models. The chronograph duo is presented in stainless steel and Moonshine gold cases measuring 43mm in diameter and equipped with a tachymeter scale on the bezel.
They come with a closed case back engraved with a medallion depicting the Olympic flame, the five rings and the inscription "Paris 2024). The finely grained surface makes for a beautiful background for the logo.
The Speedmaster Chronoscope models are powered by Omega's caliber 9908, a manually wound Master Chronometer movement with a 60-hour power reserve that features a central stop-second hand and a stacked hand set in the counter at 3 o'clock to track both the elapsed hours and minutes. The subsidiary seconds are positioned at 9 o'clock.
The two watches share the same silver-white opaline dial that instantly transports you back to the 1940s, the decade from which it draws inspiration. Each has black sub-dials at 3 and 9 o'clock with the distinctive "snail" scale that includes a tachymeter, pulsometer and telemeter. The ten applied Arabic numerals stand out in a beautiful way.
Both the Omega Moonshine Gold and stainless steel versions are offered with a leather strap or matching bracelet. The steel reference starts at $9,500 on leather; the steel-on-steel version retails for $9,800. The gold version starts at $32,700 on leather, the full gold model has a sticker price of $51,400.
