Ralph Lauren Takes to the Sea With the Nautical Collection

Ralph Lauren introduces two Nautical watches with antique brass-toned cases, highly legible vintage-inspired dials and Swiss automatic movements made by Piaget.

Ralph Lauren stays true to its unmistakable take on watchmaking with two new additions to the Nautical Collection, translating the design of vintage maritime instruments into distinctive wristwatches. The stainless-steel cases, finished in brushed antique brass-toned PVD, set the tone for two versions: one with a matte black dial and the other with an off-white dial. Both feature a mix of Roman and Arabic numerals as well as a military-time 24-hour scale.

More than a stylistic reference, the clear arrangement and strong contrast between the numerals and dial are in keeping with the legibility prized in traditional marine timepieces. At the heart of each watch ticks a self-winding movement made by Piaget.

Antique Brass

The Nautical Collection draws on the appearance of well-traveled maritime instruments, with a brushed antique brass-toned finish lending the bold stainless-steel case and three-row bracelet a warm, aged character. Measuring 42.6mm in diameter and 11.5mm thick, the case features a bezel with six visible screws. Water resistance extends to 200 meters, while the crown carries Ralph Lauren’s initials and matches the antique brass-toned finish.

The two dial options interpret the same maritime aesthetic in contrasting ways. The black version features a matte lacquered surface with creamy off-white Roman and Arabic numerals, while the off-white dial offers a lighter alternative. Breguet-style hour and minute hands, finished in creamy off-white on the black-dial model, reinforce the historical references. A red varnished arrow-shaped seconds hand adds a vivid accent, bringing a touch of color to the otherwise restrained palette. The clearly differentiated numerals and hands make readability central to the design, echoing the functional clarity of vintage marine timepieces.

A Movement by Piaget

Powering both watches is the self-winding RL514 caliber, a Swiss manufacture movement made by Piaget for Ralph Lauren. Beating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, it offers a power reserve of approximately 40 hours. The movement is decorated with vertical Côtes de Genève and circular graining, known as perlage.

An interchangeable three-row stainless-steel bracelet, finished to match the case, completes the design. A three-part folding clasp with twin security push buttons provides a secure fit.

Price and Availability

The Ralph Lauren Nautical Collection is priced at $12,000.
