Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon Goes Smaller in Pink Gold
A classic moon phase in 36mm
Defined by Proportion
The Master Ultra Thin collection, introduced in 2009, draws on Jaeger-LeCoultre’s longstanding expertise in slim mechanical movements, a tradition that dates back to the early 1900s. Conceived as a contemporary dress watch, it combines clean lines, polished surfaces, and traditional complications with the technical refinement developed at the manufacture in Switzerland’s Vallée de Joux.
The latest addition to the family introduces a 36mm case in 18-karat pink gold, a smaller format that recalls the proportions of round watches from the 1950s. Measuring just 9.3mm thick, the case retains the slender profile that gives the Master Ultra Thin collection its name. Its fully polished surfaces, narrow bezel, and long, gently curving lugs create a continuous silhouette that sits comfortably within the tradition of fine dress watches. Water resistance is rated to 50 meters.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon Pink Gold
Jaeger-LeCoultreAn Understated Composition of Silver and Gold
The silver-colored dial features a sunray-brushed finish that creates subtle variations in tone as the light moves across it. Against this finely textured background, the applied hour markers and Dauphine hands provide clear indications of the time while adding depth to the otherwise restrained composition. The hands are particularly well considered. Each features one satin-brushed facet and one polished facet, producing a play of light that changes with the viewing angle. Their tapered geometry complements the trapezoidal hour markers, establishing a consistent visual language across the dial. The blued seconds hand adds a touch of color.
At 6 o’clock, the moon-phase display depicts a golden Moon and stars against a deep blue background. A surrounding pointer-date scale integrates the calendar function into the same subdial, preserving the clean proportions of the composition.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 925
Jaeger-LeCoultreProven Mechanics, Exquisite Finishing
The Master Ultra Thin Moon is powered by Jaeger-LeCoultre’s tried-and-tested automatic Calibre 925, which delivers a 70-hour power reserve from a single barrel. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, the movement measures just 4.9mm thick, allowing for the watch’s slim profile. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the movement reveals Côtes de Genève, beveled bridges, and blued screws. An open-worked rotor in 22-karat pink gold echoes the warm tone of the case, completing the refined aesthetic.
The Master Ultra Thin Moon is fitted with a black alligator leather strap secured by a pin buckle in matching 18-karat pink gold. It is priced at $23,100.
