A Heavenly Delight: Mühle-Glashütte Teutonia IV BlueMoon

In its latest introduction to the market, esteemed German watchmaker Mühle-Glashütte now introduces the new Teutonia IV BlueMoon. The new watch follows the original Teutonia IV Moonphase as a unisex model with nimble case diameter of 39mm. However, here, Luna moves on a new orbit: Mühle-Glashütte shifted the realistic depiction of the earth's satellite to the center of the dial and it is shown in a section between six and nine o'clock. As a result, the diameter of the display could be increased to a full 6mm so it and appears as a true supermoon.

With its color scheme, the Teutonia IV BlueMoon lives up to its name. The surrounding night sky of the moon disc is a dark blue and decorated with tiny stars. Thus, the lunar disk blends in harmoniously with the midnight blue background and at the same time stands out clearly enough to have a grand entrance.

The dial itself carries applied indices and a meticulously drawn minute track, which are clearly visible even on a bright full moon night. In addition, there are small second and minute numerals with a light azure blue color that contrasts well with the dark blue backdrop.

On the rear side, the SW 288-1 caliber is revealed through a sapphire crystal case back. As is typical for the Glashütte-based brand, this automatic movement is equipped with an in-house rotor and the patented, particularly shock-resistant woodpecker neck regulator. This allows the movement to be tested in six positions and regulated so that its rate accuracy is between 0 and +8 seconds/day. The regulation specification is based on the chronometer standard.

Pricing is around $2,780 when converted to USD.
