Favre Leuba Expands the Deep Raider Renaissance Collection with Meteorite and Malachite Dials
Favre Leuba reimagines its historically inspired Deep Raider Renaissance line with two new models that introduce natural stone dials for the first time in the brand’s 288-year history. The Deep Raider Renaissance Meteorite and Deep Raider Renaissance Malachite bring new visual depth and narrative character to the robust diver’s collection. Both models measure 40mm in diameter, offer a water-resistance of 300 meters, and feature a date display between 4 and 5 o’clock. The design continues to draw on the 2024 Renaissance launch, itself influenced by the 1964 Deep Blue. Hallmarks include the prominent markers at the cardinal positions, extended for optimal legibility and coated with Super-LumiNova to ensure clarity in darkness and at depth. A unidirectional 60-minute bezel completes the dive-ready functionality.

Favre LeubaFor the meteorite version, Favre Leuba uses Muonionalusta iron meteorite sourced from northern Sweden, composed primarily of iron and nickel. Its characteristic Widmanstätten pattern emerges only after precise slicing and acid etching, revealing a crystalline structure formed over millions of years. Because meteorite is brittle due to its high iron content, each section is stability-tested before being crafted into a dial.

The dial itself uses a sandwich construction, with an upper layer featuring applied indices positioned over a Super-LumiNova-coated base layer that produces glowing hour markers. No two dials are alike, underscoring the material’s extraterrestrial origin.

The second model features a malachite dial, cut from the semi-precious stone known for its vivid green hues and natural, flowing banding. Malachite’s softness and irregular internal structures require careful handling. Only visually appealing and structurally stable segments are selected before being cut into thin plates, reinforced when necessary, and polished at low temperatures to preserve the material’s integrity. As with the meteorite version, each dial is unique.
Both watches are powered by the automatic FLD02 caliber, based on a La Joux-Perret architecture. The movement beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 68-hour power reserve. Decorations such as Geneva Stripes, blued screws, and perlage are visible through the exhibition case back.
The Deep Raider Renaissance Malachite is priced at $3,600 on the rubber strap and $3,700 on the bracelet. The Deep Raider Renaissance Meteorite sits one tier above, with each configuration priced $100 USD higher.
