Sjöö Sandström: Royal Steel Chronograph Motikon Edition

Swedish watchmaker Sjöö Sandström expands its Royal Steel Chronograph line with a new special edition created in collaboration with Motikon, a young company specializing in classic and luxury cars. The Royal Steel Chronograph Motikon Edition blends watchmaking expertise with a passion for engineering and lifestyle.

Since its founding in 1986, Sjöö Sandström has been among the few Scandinavian names in the luxury watch segment, combining traditional craftsmanship with innovation and a distinct Nordic design language. The Royal Steel Chronograph Motikon Edition underscores this philosophy through a partnership rooted in precision, performance, and aesthetics. The chronograph is available in two striking dial variants, both reflecting Motikon’s signature turquoise. One model features a fully turquoise dial including the totalizers, while the other offers a bold contrast with black counters against the vibrant background. White Super-LumiNova accents on the Arabic numerals and partially skeletonized hands ensure readability in all conditions, while the tachymeter scale on the rehaut discreetly integrates the Motikon logo.

Housed in a 40mm stainless steel case, the Royal Steel Chronograph Motikon Edition is water-resistant to 100 meters and protected by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. With a thickness of 14.95mm, the chronograph offers a compact, sporty profile. Inside ticks the automatic caliber SS G17 (Swiss Made), delivering a 60-hour power reserve and date indication at 6 o’clock. The watch is offered with two strap options: a newly developed seven-row steel bracelet priced at approximately $5,800, or a black rubber strap with tire-inspired texture priced at around $5,600.
