Chopard Puts the Pedal to the Metal with the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control Grigio-Blu

Chopard’s latest Mille Miglia edition combines chronometer-certified performance, automotive-inspired design, and a distinctive blue-gray dial, taking direct inspiration from the roads of Italy’s most famous classic car endurance race.

Few partnerships in the watch industry have proven as enduring or authentic as Chopard’s relationship with the Mille Miglia. Since becoming the legendary Italian race’s official timekeeper in 1988, the Swiss manufacture has translated the spirit of classic motorsport into a succession of enthusiast-focused timepieces. The latest chapter is the new Mille Miglia GTS Power Control Grigio-Blu – 2026 Racing Edition, a numbered limited edition of 250 pieces that follows the lead of its predecessor placing precision, reliability, and legibility at the center of its design.

Inspired by the Road

The defining feature of the new model is its distinctive Grigio-Blu dial. Finished in a textured blue-gray tone, the brass dial evokes the asphalt surfaces of the roads that have challenged generations of Mille Miglia competitors. Its finely grained finish creates subtle depth, while bold typography and strong contrasts ensure immediate readability. Motorsport references are integrated throughout the display. Most notably, the power-reserve indicator positioned between 8 and 10 o’clock is styled like a fuel gauge, reinforcing the connection between mechanical endurance and automotive performance. Applied blackened hour markers and broad faceted hands, all coated with black Superluminova, provide excellent visibility in all lighting conditions, while a date display at 3 o’clock adds a practical indication for daily life.

Built for the Track

The watch is housed in a 43mm case crafted from Chopard’s proprietary Lucent Steel, a material containing a high percentage of recycled content while offering exceptional hardness and a distinctive brilliance often compared to precious metals. Balanced proportions, short ergonomic lugs, and a thickness of just 11.43mm help ensure comfortable wear despite the watch’s sporting presence. The screw-down crown, engraved with a steering-wheel motif, is a subtle reminder of the collection’s automotive roots, while water resistance to 100 meters underscores its everyday practicality. A black aluminum bezel insert further enhances the instrument-like character of the watch, giving it a purposeful appearance that feels equally at home behind the wheel or away from the racetrack.

COSC-Certified Performance

Powering the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control Grigio-Blu is the in-house Chopard Caliber 01.08-C, a self-winding movement certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz, the movement delivers a generous 60-hour power reserve and incorporates a stop-seconds mechanism for precise time setting. The chronometer certification confirms a daily rate deviation of between -4 and +6 seconds, reinforcing the collection’s longstanding emphasis on precision and reliability.

Exclusively available in Italy and through Chopard boutiques, the watch is delivered on a black textile strap with rubber ‘tyre tread’ patterned lining. Pricing is marked at $8,350.
