Angelus Unveils Chronodate Gold & Titanium Moka Editions

A rich new dial tone, a refined multi-material case construction, and the A-500 manufacture chronograph movement headline two limited editions.

Arriving just in time to cap off Pantone’s Year of Mocha Mousse, Angelus introduces two new limited Chronodate models that embrace the season’s warmest, most luxurious hue. The Chronodate Gold Moka and Chronodate Titanium Moka editions blend the collection’s neo-retro design codes with a deep, amber-shimmer mocha dial, a multi-material case architecture, and the brand’s A-500 chronograph caliber. Rich in detail, the duo is clad in 5N red gold (limited to five pieces) and grade-5 titanium (limited to 25 pieces).

Both Moka editions share Angelus’ signature 42.5mm modular case construction. At the core sits a rigid, lightweight carbon-fibre composite container that holds the movement and integrates the carbon-composite chronograph pushers. Surrounding it is an openworked cradle that merges case middle and lugs into a single flowing structure, capped by a fixed bezel marked with twelve notches.

Rendered either in 18-carat red gold or grade-5 titanium, this angular superstructure adds contrast, depth, and architectural tension. Satin and polished surfaces alternate across chamfered lines, giving the Chronodate Moka editions their dynamic appeal.

A nod to the rich flavor profile that inspired the theme, the mocha-brown dial shimmers with amber undertones and a fine sunray-brushed finish. Two oversized counters—small seconds at 9 o’clock and a 30-minute totalizer at 3 o’clock—stand out in metallic black with snailed textures, recalling the large, highly legible displays of Angelus chronographs from the 1930s. Applied Arabic numerals and hands are finished in gold and filled with luminescent material, while the pointer-type date—an homage to the original 1942 Chronodate—circles the perimeter.

Powering both Moka editions is Angelus’ in-house A-500 automatic chronograph movement, featuring a column wheel, horizontal clutch, and 60-hour power reserve. Bead-blasted bridges and a sandblasted main plate receive a dark anthracite NAC finish, creating depth and contrast. Chamfered edges and three-bladed propeller-shaped screws—an Angelus hallmark—underscore the movement’s modern technical aesthetic. The skeletonized oscillating weight differs by edition: red gold on the Chronodate Gold and tungsten on the Titanium version. Its design, featuring a capital “A” and star motif, references early Angelus branding. Beating at a frequency of 28,800 vph, the A-500 offers a power reserve of 60 hours.

Pricing is marked at CHF 25,100 incl. VAT for the titanium version and at CHF 43,100 for the gold iteration.
