TAG Heuer has reunited with Team Ikuzawa and Bamford Watch Department for the second chapter of a collaboration that first debuted in 2023. Limited to 150 individually numbered pieces, the new Carrera Chronograph x Team Ikuzawa reimagines one of the collection’s most recognizable modern designs through the visual identity of one of Japan’s most influential racing teams.

Founded by legendary racing driver Tetsu Ikuzawa, Team Ikuzawa is one of Japan’s most celebrated names in motorsport. Ikuzawa was among the first Japanese drivers to build a successful career in Europe, competing in Formula 3 and Formula 2 before joining Porsche’s factory endurance racing program, where he raced at events including the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Today, his daughter, Mai Ikuzawa, serves as Team Principal and Creative Director, continuing her father’s legacy by transforming Team Ikuzawa into a contemporary cultural brand that bridges motorsport, design, fashion, and luxury. For this collaboration, the team drew inspiration from the vintage Heuer Roadmaster stopwatches it used during the 1970s and 1980s.

A Carrera Glassbox with Team Ikuzawa Details

The watch is based on the 39mm Carrera Glassbox, one of the defining designs of the current Carrera collection. Its bezel-free architecture and highly domed sapphire crystal create a seamless view of the dial and flange while paying tribute to the outstanding legibility that has characterized the Carrera since Jack Heuer introduced the model in 1963.

The finely brushed and polished stainless-steel case offers 100 meters of water resistance and features a sapphire crystal caseback. A distinctive red lacquered ring around the crown echoes the watch’s racing-inspired color palette. So far, so good for the Carrera DNA.

The white dial undergoes a complete Team Ikuzawa transformation, most notably through its Clous de Paris pattern. Printed Arabic numerals replace traditional applied markers to reinforce the stopwatch-inspired aesthetic, while a black flange with a crisp white minute track frames the display. Bright red accents appear throughout, from the lacquered hour and minute hands and central chronograph seconds hand to the chronograph counters and date display at 6 o’clock, where every numeral appears in Team Ikuzawa’s signature shade of red.

Powering the watch is the TH20-10 manufacture chronograph caliber. Its omission of a running-seconds display allows the Team Ikuzawa logo to occupy a prominent position at 6 o’clock, creating a layout reminiscent of historic TAG Heuer racing chronographs from the 1960s and 1970s. The automatic column-wheel chronograph movement offers an 80-hour power reserve.

Bracelet, Straps, and Custom Packaging

Visible through the exhibition caseback, the movement is framed by dedicated Team Ikuzawa and Bamford Watch Department engravings on the sapphire crystal, along with the individual limitation number.

The Carrera Chronograph x Team Ikuzawa comes fitted with TAG Heuer’s seven-row bracelet and includes two additional straps. The first is a perforated white leather strap with red stitching inspired by vintage racing gloves, while the second is a white textile strap with red stripes recalling Team Ikuzawa’s historic livery.

Each watch comes in exclusive toolbox-inspired packaging that also includes a travel pouch and custom Team Ikuzawa charms. Limited to 150 pieces, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Team Ikuzawa is priced at $10,500.
