Sinn Spezialuhren Launches New Variant of the Hunting Watch

Making its first appearance at Watches and Wonders, Sinn Spezialuhren presents two technically driven timepieces ahead of the show: the mission-focused 308 Hunting Watch and the pared-back 544 RS. Both timepieces highlight the German manufacturer's engineering-led approach to watchmaking.

For the first time, Frankfurt-based Sinn Spezialuhren will participate in Watches and Wonders, bringing its distinctly utilitarian philosophy to the international stage. Founded in 1961 and celebrating its 65th anniversary in 2026, the brand has built its reputation on highly functional instrument watches, combining German engineering with proprietary technologies such as Ar-Dehumidifying Technology, regimented surfaces, and advanced solutions for legibility and durability. Sinn’s timepieces are conceived as precision tools, designed to perform reliably under demanding real-world conditions— a focus that continues to define its latest releases.

Leading the presentation is the 308 Hunting Watch, a 40mm instrument timepiece developed specifically for use in challenging lighting environments. Its satin-finished  steel case is equipped with sapphire crystal on both sides and engineered to withstand pressures up to 20 bar and resistant to low-pressure conditions. At the core of its functionality is the moonlight display positioned at 6 o’clock, executed as a hybrid-ceramic luminescent element where pigments are embedded directly into the ceramic structure for maximum brightness. This complication indicates when natural moonlight reaches sufficient brightness in situations where artificial light sources cannot be used, such as hunting.

The dark green dial is furnished with hand-applied hybrid-ceramic luminescent indices alongside luminescent hour and minute hands, ensuring high-intensity legibility in darkness. The same technology is used for the moonlight display, where luminescent. A central pointer date further enhances clarity.

Inside, the automatic SW 382-1 caliber operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour with 25 jewels, a seconds stop function, and antimagnetic protection in accordance with German DIN 8309 standard. Sinn’s Ar-Dehumidifying Technology enhances functional reliability by reducing moisture and preventing fogging, a critical feature in fluctuating environmental conditions. The watch is priced at €2,570 (approximately $2,980) on a leather or silicone strap, while the version on a solid bracelet is available from €2,920 (approximately $3,390).

Complementing the specialized 308 Hunting Watch is the 544 RS, a three-hand timepiece with date indication that distills Sinn’s engineering philosophy into a more restrained, everyday format. The pearl-blasted stainless steel case measures 38.5mm in diameter and features sapphire crystals on both the front and the display case back. Water-resistant to 200 meters and resistant to low pressure, the watch is designed for reliability across a wide range of conditions.

The matte black dial emphasizes clarity, featuring hand-applied hybrid-ceramic luminescent indices and hands, while a red seconds hand with luminous coating introduces a subtle but deliberate visual accent. The crown is positioned at 4 o’clock to improve wearing comfort, and the integrated D3 system provides enhanced protection against dust and moisture.

Well protected, the automatic SW 200-2 operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a power reserve of at least 60 hours, along with a seconds stop function and antimagnetic protection to German DIN 8309 standards. As such, the 544 RS serves as a concise showcase of the brand’s engineering capabilities, combining durability, legibility, and mechanical reliability in a reduced, highly functional design. The watch is priced at €1,390 (approximately $1,600) on a leather or silicone strap, while the version on a solid bracelet is available from €1,740 (approximately $2,020).
