Master Class: Longines Reimagines the Master Collection
An enduring pursuit of excellence
The Art of Classic
Longines has given one of its best-known collections a thorough update. First introduced in 2005, the Longines Master Collection has long represented the Saint-Imier-based brand’s approach to combining traditional mechanical watchmaking with classic design. Now, more than two decades after its debut, the collection enters a new chapter with a complete aesthetic and technical refresh. The redesigned lineup includes iterations in four sizes—30mm, 34mm, 39mm, and 41mm—aimed at both men and women. While preserving the collection’s familiar elegance, Longines has reworked virtually every visible element, from the dials and hands to the bezel, case architecture, and bracelet construction.

LonginesA New Dial Signature
At the center of the redesign is a filigree barleycorn guilloché-inspired motif that gives the dials greater depth and texture. On the 30mm and 34mm models, the pattern frames the outer portion of the dial, while select references pair it with white mother-of-pearl dials set with 11 Top Wesselton diamond hour markers totaling 0.047 carats. Additional references feature a full silver-colored barleycorn dial with applied Arabic numerals. The larger 39mm and 41mm models adopt a more contemporary appearance. Here, the barleycorn motif extends across the entire dial surface and is offered in silver or blue. Applied Arabic numerals improve legibility, while newly designed blued-steel or rhodium-plated hands provide a cleaner visual identity. Two 41mm references stand out with Eastern Arabic numerals, adding an international dimension to the collection.

LonginesReworked Cases and Improved Comfort
All models feature newly sculpted cases with a concave bezel profile designed to create greater visual depth. The 30mm and 34mm collections are also available in two-tone executions featuring yellow- or rose-gold capped bezels and matching 18-karat gold crowns. The cases measure 30mm, 34mm, 39mm, or 41mm in diameter and are fitted with sapphire crystals featuring anti-reflective coating on both sides. Transparent sapphire case backs provide a view of the movements inside. Longines has also redesigned the bracelets, shortening the links for improved ergonomics and adding a fine-adjustment system to the folding clasp. Matching blue, burgundy, or anthracite leather straps are available depending on the model.

LonginesSilicon Technology Throughout the Range
Powering the 30mm models is the Longines Caliber L592.5, while the 34mm, 39mm, and 41mm versions are equipped with the Caliber L888.5. Both automatic movements feature silicon balance springs for enhanced resistance to magnetism and improved long-term precision. The L592.5 operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and delivers a power reserve of up to 45 hours. The larger L888.5 runs at 25,200 vibrations per hour and offers an extended power reserve of up to 72 hours. Each model displays the date at 3 o’clock and benefits from Longines’ five-year warranty. Prices range from CHF1,950 to CHF3,000 or approximately $2,450 to $3,770 when converted to USD.
