Chopard Presents the L.U.C 1860 Chronometer and Alpine Eagle 41 XPS
Watches and Wonders 2026
At Watches and Wonders 2026, Chopard introduces two timepieces that underscore the breadth of its manufacture capabilities. The L.U.C 1860 Chronometer revisits a foundational model marking 30 years of the Chopard Manufacture in Fleurier, while the Alpine Eagle 41 XPS extends the brand’s contemporary sports watch line with a focus on slim proportions, refined finishing, and dial artistry. Both models feature high-end in-house movements and a strong emphasis on traditional craftsmanship.

L.U.C 1860 Chronometer
ChopardThe new L.U.C 1860 Chronometer returns to the restrained elegance of the original 1997 model, presented in a 36.5mm Lucent Steel case with a slim height of 8.2mm. Its “Areuse Blue” dial, inspired by the river in the Val-de-Travers region, is executed in solid white gold and decorated using traditional hand-guilloché techniques on vintage rose engines. The dial architecture combines a central sunburst motif with additional guilloché rings, a satin-brushed chapter ring, and white-gold chevron markers, while a small seconds display at 6 o’clock preserves the model’s symmetrical layout. The absence of a date display reinforces its purist approach.

ChopardInside, the ultra-thin L.U.C Calibre 96.40-L— measuring a mere 3.30mm thick— continues the lineage of the manufacture’s first movement introduced in 1996. Equipped with a 22-carat gold micro-rotor and Chopard's Twin Technology with twin stacked barrels, it delivers a 65-hour power reserve. The movement is certified by the COSC and features a stop-seconds function and swan’s-neck regulator. Its meticulous finishing meets the high standards of the Poinçon de Genève, one of the oldest distinctions in watchmaking, looking back on more 160 years of history. This prestigious hallmark is visible on both the case back and movement bridge. The L.U.C 1860 Chronometer is paired with an anthracite calfskin leather strap highlighting the elegant dress watch charisma. At the time of publication, the price had not yet been disclosed.

ChopardAlongside the anniversary model, Chopard expands its Alpine Eagle collection with the new 41 XPS, an ultra-thin sports watch that balances technical precision with contemporary design. Measuring 41mm in diameter and just 8mm in height, the case is also crafted from the brand's proprietary Lucent Steel, but offers water resistance to 100 meters. The redesigned integrated bracelet, a signature of the collection since its introduction in 2019, features a more pronounced taper and a comfort extension system allowing up to five mm of adjustment.

ChopardThe dial introduces a new “Mountain Glow” color, a subtle champagne tone inspired by alpine light at sunset. Its textured surface, stamped with a radiating pattern reminiscent of an eagle’s iris, creates shifting reflections. Applied white-gold hour markers and numerals, treated with Grade X1 Super-LumiNova, ensure legibility, while maintaining a restrained aesthetic.

ChopardPowering the Alpine Eagle 41 XPS is again the L.U.C Calibre 96.40-L, underscoring the movement’s versatility across both classic and sports-oriented designs. As in the L.U.C 1860, it features a micro-rotor, twin barrels, and a 65-hour power reserve, alongside COSC chronometer certification. At the time of publication, the price had not yet been disclosed.
