Grand Seiko Ushers in the Dawn with the Sunrise Tentagraph SLGC006
The brand’s first mechanical chronograph receives a copper-pink dial inspired by morning light over Mount Iwate.
Grand Seiko has long drawn inspiration from the natural beauty surrounding its watchmaking studio in Shizukuishi, Japan. Visible from the site’s windows, the rugged ridges and shifting hues of Mount Iwate have served as a recurring motif for dials. The latest interpretation is the Sunrise Tentagraph SLGC006, a limited-edition chronograph that captures the mountain’s copper-pink dawn in an awesome new dial. The textured surface reflects light at varying angles like the majestic mountain bathed in morning sun. The darker shades of the chronograph counters contrast with the lighter small seconds sub dial at 3 o’clock, creating clarity while reinforcing the theme of shifting tones at daybreak. Pink-gold accents, including the applied indexes, hands, bezel, crown, pushers, and date indication, also create a gentle radiance reminiscent of morning light.

Grand SeikoInside beats Grand Seiko’s Caliber 9SC5, a high-frequency self-winding movement operating at 36,000 vph (5 Hz) with a power reserve of 72 hours and a daily accuracy of –3 to +5 seconds. Its column wheel and vertical clutch architecture ensure the precise operation of the chronograph function. In typical Grand Seiko fashion, it is protected against magnetic fields up to 4,800 A/m. Finishing details include striped bridges inspired by the nearby Shizukuishi River, further anchoring the caliber to its place of origin.
The watch is limited to 300 pieces and priced at $22,600. It will be available from October 2025.To learn more, visit Grand Seiko, here.
