The 1960s were a particularly successful decade for the Swiss brand Vulcain. Its Cricket alarm watch, first introduced in 1947, has become synonymous with "the Presidents watch. In 1961, it also launched its first divers watch, the Nautical, which also became an instant hit. The new Vulcain Grand Prix 39mm also harks back to the horological sophistication of the 1960s. Originally conceived to commemorate the brand's prestigious win at the Barcelona International Exhibition in 1929, this time-only watch embodies pure understatement.

With its slim profile, the stainless-steel case, 39mm in diameter and 12.9mm in height, makes it a picture-perfect dress watch. The same rings true for the dial that displays a refined vintage inspired aesthetics. Slightly domed and available in champagne, light grey, or black with a semi-glossy sunray finish, it is protected by a likewise domed sapphire crystal.
