The Longines Spirit Zulu Time Goes Titanium

This year, the Longines Spirit Zulu Time takes to the sky in a titanium case. Introduced to the Longines Spirit collection in 2022 in a 42mm steel case and expanded with 39mm versions in 2023, the line owes its name to the first Longines GMT wristwatch produced in 1925, which featured the Zulu flag on its dial – Zulu referring to the letter Z, which designates the universal time used by aviators and sailors.

The latest member of the squad is clad in titanium grade 5, an alloy that is known for its light and robust properties. The case measuring 39mm wide and 13.5mm thick sports a bidirectional rotating bezel with a black ceramic insert with a 24-hour scale that can be used to set the time in a different time zone.

Divided into two shades–matte black and intense polished black–to indicate the hours of day and night respectively, it frames the anthracite dial, which has the clarity of a pilot's watch dial and is a beauty to behold. The applied Arabic numerals that rise above the background and the gold-plated hands, both coated with Superluminova for night-time readability, are complemented by the matt black GMT hand with red tip and luminescent arrow, as well as the date display at 6 o'clock. The five stars, a Longines hallmark indicating the high quality and reliability of its movements, are not to be missed.

As with previous editions, the watch comes with a closed and engraved caseback. Well protected behind it, the exclusive Longines GMT caliber L844.4 sets the pace. The automatic movement, which beats at 25,200 vibrations per hour, is equipped with a silicon balance-spring and other innovative components, offering exceptional resistance to magnetic fields and a power reserve of up to 72 hours. It is officially certified as a chronometer by the COSC.

The Longines Spirit Zulu Time is fitted with an interchangeable titanium bracelet with a double security folding clasp and a push-button opening mechanism.

Pricing is marked at $4,275.
