Junghans Brings Back Rare Telemeter Model from the 1950s

Originally intended as a one-off, the original creation of the Telemeter Edition JF, based on a rare vintage model in gold, was so well received within the company that Junghans is now presenting a limited series of 150 pieces in steel with a PVD yellow gold coating at the Inhorgenta Munich trade show.

Hannes Steim, Managing Partner of Junghans, tells the story behind it.

“I wanted a new interpretation of this sporty and elegant model that I had acquired from the family of a friend who had passed away. It was originally intended to be a one-off for me, but the new watch found so many fans in the company that we produced a small series.”

The black dial with the eponymous telemeter scale in red on a grey background also pays tribute to the historic model which was first introduced in 1951 in stainless steel. In addition, there is a tachymeter scale at the outer edge of the luminous dial. The “Telemeter Edition JF” is powered by the automatic chronograph movement caliber J880.3, which is fully visible through a viewing window on the back of the 40.8 x 12.6 mm case.

Pricing is marked at approximately $2,600 when converted to USD.
