Think water sports, sun-soaked adventures, and the chance to showcase bold timepieces on bare wrists–tis is the season watch enthusiasts love best. So just in time for summer, Girard-Perregaux and Bamford Watch Department wow with the Deep Diver. A faithful reinterpretation of an eye-catching design from 1969, this statement piece will surely turn heads. As a part of the Legacy Editions, the diver's watch is limited to 350 pieces.

Originally launched in 1969 under the reference 9108, the Deep Diver was Girard-Perregaux’s answer to a growing appetite for adventurous, robust timepieces. It featured a distinctive cushion-shaped case with a 14-facet bezel, a red dial, and the then-revolutionary Gyromatic movement — a bi-directional automatic winding system that improved both energy efficiency and precision.

The 2025 edition brings back the spirit of that era with striking authenticity. Water-resistant to 200 meters, the titanium case retains the cushion profile of the original, now measuring a contemporary 40.30mm x 38.00mm, with a thickness of 13.91mm. It features two fluted crowns, one at 2 o’clock for the inner bezel, and one at 4 o’clock for adjusting the time and date.

The dial with a trapezoidal date window at 3 o’clock is a tribute to the boldness of the early '70s, particularly the 1971 edition, with its playful integration of retro typography and vivid contrasts. Hues of blue, orange, and white energize the layout, while hands and markers treated with luminous coating glow electric blue in low light.

At the heart of the Deep Diver is the GP03300 caliber, a self-winding movement produced entirely in-house at Girard-Perregaux’s manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds. It has a power reserve of 46 hours power reserve and is distinguished by beautiful decorations, such as Circular Côtes de Genève on the rotor, linear striping on the bridges, polished bevels, and gilded engravings. Some of them come to life through the blue metallized sapphire crystal case back with a trident motif paying homage to the watch’s aquatic origins and Neptune, the Roman god of the sea.

The Deep Diver comes fitted with a blue rubber strap and includes an additional orange strap.

Pricing is marked at $15,100 (VAT excluded).
