Longines Delights Ladies with New PrimaLuna

Every element has been thoughtfully redesigned, from refined case proportions and a new date display in the moonphase complication to the mastery of gem-setting techniques.

Longines has revisited one of its most emblematic women’s collections, introducing a new generation of the PrimaLuna that blends contemporary refinement with the storied Swiss brand’s long-standing tradition of feminine watchmaking and special expertise in elegance. First launched in 2009, the PrimaLuna is inspired by the beauty and myth of the moon. This latest redesign reinforces that theme through new case proportions, enhanced dial options, and the addition of a classic pointer date within the moonphase display, marking a first for the collection.

The 2025 PrimaLuna is defined by its 34mm case, whose domed surfaces and softened lines create an interplay of light and shadow that accentuates its feminine profile. The crown, engraved with lunar crescents, echoes the collection’s celestial motif. Available in stainless steel, two-tone executions, or gem-set versions, the case retains harmonious proportions while offering a range of stylistic expressions.

The collection presents three distinct dial executions: a sunray silver finish with painted Roman numerals, a white mother-of-pearl dial with diamond indexes, and the highlight of the collection, a deep “celestial blue” mother-of-pearl dial with 14 diamond indexes. On this flagship version, the bezel is adorned with 48 blue sapphires, totaling 1.06 carat, in a subtle gradation of hues and sizes, creating a striking frame that reinforces the moonlit inspiration.

Inside the new PrimaLuna beats the Longines-exclusive calibre L899.5, an automatic movement equipped with a silicon balance spring for improved resistance to magnetism and temperature fluctuations. Its beautiful decorations come to life through the sapphire case back.

The launch of the redesigned PrimaLuna is accompanied by a new campaign featuring Longines Ambassador of Elegance Jennifer Lawrence. Captured in a quiet, dreamlike moment inside an empty opera house, Lawrence reflects the balance of intimacy and sophistication that defines the collection. Her natural grace and understated presence mirror the PrimaLuna’s philosophy: that elegance lies not in grand gestures, but in the quiet confidence of personal moments. An Academy Award–winning actress and producer, Lawrence has been a Longines Ambassador since 2022. Known for her versatility on screen and her advocacy for gender equality, she embodies the modern woman who values authenticity, confidence, and timeless style, all qualities expressed in the new PrimaLuna.

The PrimaLuna is offered on stainless steel bracelets with newly designed domed links for a softer, more ergonomic fit, as well as on premium leather straps in colors that complement the dial variations. Prices range from $2,750 to $6,500.
