From diamond-set high watchmaking to Dakar-ready sports watches
The appeal of a major watch show is often found in the contrasts. One moment, you might be examining a hand-guilloché gold dial or a diamond-set mechanical sculpture. The next, you are handling a GPS-connected titanium watch or an purpose-built tool meant to accompany a team through the Dakar Rally.
That range and the curiosity it inspires will be on display at WatchTime New York 2026, returning next month to Gotham Hall from October 16 to 18. Following our first look and subsequent previews of the independent and high-complication watches joining the show, this latest group brings together seven more highlights from MB&F, DANIEL ROTH, gérald genta, Zenith, Citizen, Norqain, and Bell & Ross.
MB&F SP One Pavée
The MB&F SP One Pavée takes the brand's smallest and slimmest watch in a more precious direction. Its architecture centers on three circular elements, including the barrel, balance wheel, and inclined time display. Each appears to float inside the watch, supported by a movement designed to conceal much of its underlying structure.
For the new Pavée edition, MB&F sets the 38mm white-gold case, flange, crown, and buckle with 255 diamonds totaling 1.608 carats. A dark-blue inclined dial replaces the black displays of the original versions, while the manually wound in-house movement delivers a 72-hour power reserve.
DANIEL ROTH Extra Plat Rose Gold Gilt
The DANIEL ROTH Extra Plat Rose Gold Gilt places its emphasis on a traditional dial-making method. Rather than printing the Roman numerals and inscriptions over the finished dial, the gilt process masks those elements with a varnish on a solid-gold base before the surrounding surface receives multiple electroplating treatments. Removing the varnish reveals the gold beneath the glossy black finish, while hand-guilloché pinstripes add texture and depth.
The dial sits inside DANIEL ROTH's signature double-ellipse case, executed in 5N rose gold and measuring 38.6mm by 35.5mm and 7.7mm thick. Inside is the manually wound Calibre DR002, developed specifically for the Extra Plat and offering a 65-hour power reserve. The watch is priced at CHF 55,500 before taxes.
Gérald Genta Geneva Time Only Marrone
The gérald genta Geneva Time Only Marrone distills the revived collection’s sculptural design into a simpler and very wearable format. Its softened cushion-shaped case draws on Mr. Genta’s work from the 1970s which has been condensed to a versatile 38mm diameter and 8.15mm thickness.
Executed in rose gold, the case surrounds a grained brown dial with a smoked gradient finish, complemented by matching rose-gold hands and indexes and a brown leather strap. Inside is the automatic GG-005P, based on the Zenith Elite caliber and fitted with a redesigned oscillating mass. The movement provides a 50-hour power reserve, with the watch priced at CHF 25,000 before taxes.
Zenith Chronomaster Solo Sport
The Zenith Chronomaster Solo Sport removes the chronograph from the Chronomaster formula without giving up the high-frequency movement that defines the collection. Its automatic El Primero 3620 caliber, derived from the El Primero 3600, runs at 5 Hz, or 36,000 vibrations per hour, and offers a 60-hour power reserve.
The movement sits inside a 40mm stainless-steel case with a unidirectional ceramic bezel, screw-down crown, and water resistance to 200 meters. Ceramic dials in white, black, and brown use a repeating "Z" pattern intended to evoke the rhythm of the movement beneath. Three versions include a date at 3 o'clock, while a black-dial edition eliminates the date for a cleaner display. Prices for the Zenith models range from CHF 8,900 to CHF 9,900.
Citizen Attesa Eco-Drive 50th Anniversary Power of Purple Aurora
Citizen marks five decades of Eco-Drive with the limited-edition Attesa Power of Purple Aurora, inspired by the shifting colors of auroras seen in polar skies. Its black dial uses raised printing to evoke light against the night sky, while structural-color film gives the subdials purple and blue tones that change with the viewing angle. Vapor deposition creates a similar transition across the sapphire bezel.
The Citizen uses a 44.6mm Super Titanium case and bracelet and Citizen's light-powered Calibre F950. The movement connects to GPS satellites to adjust the time wherever the wearer travels and can receive a signal in as little as three seconds. It also provides dual time zones, a perpetual calendar, and a 1/20-second chronograph. The Power of Purple Aurora is limited to 1,500 pieces and priced at $2,295.
Norqain Wild ONE Skeleton Chrono
The Norqain Wild ONE Skeleton Chrono expands the brand's lightweight sports-watch platform with an automatic flyback chronograph. Its 42mm case consists of more than 25 components, including an outer cage made from NORTEQ carbon-fiber composite, a rubber shock-absorbing core, and a sandblasted titanium container and caseback.
Inside is the COSC-certified Norqain 8K Manufacture Calibre, capable of resetting and restarting the chronograph with a single push. Wafer-thin transparent discs replace conventional hands and subdials for the running seconds and chronograph minutes, opening the view into the skeletonized movement. The caliber offers a 62-hour power reserve, with black, burgundy, and red-gold-accented editions available.
Bell & Ross BR-X3 Black Titanium
The Bell & Ross BR-X3 Black Titanium brings the brand's cockpit-inspired design into another demanding environment. Bell & Ross recently became the official timing partner of Defender Rally, which entered the 2026 World Rally-Raid Championship with the purpose-built Defender Dakar D7X-R.
The Bell & Ross will equip the team through the championship's punishing stages. Its Grade 2 titanium construction keeps the case lightweight, while a COSC-certified manufacture movement provides the mechanical foundation. The prominent numerals, layered dial, and "circle within a square" case retain the instrument-like legibility that has defined Bell & Ross's professional watches.
Together, these releases capture the variety that makes seeing watches in person worthwhile. Traditional gilt dials sit alongside GPS synchronization, diamond setting meets carbon-fiber construction, and familiar brands arrive with unexpected new ideas. At WatchTime New York, collectors can experience all of it under one roof, making the show as much a place for discovery as it is a showcase of contemporary watchmaking.
