De Bethune Expands Titan Hawk Series in Dramatic Black

In one of its latest avant-garde exploration, De Bethune takes on a sharp black timepiece whose monochrome is interrupted only by gold-tone accents. Dubbed the DB27 Titan Hawk JPS, the watch is the latest to join the Titan Hawk series and saw its debut at the end of last year. Though still incorporating the elegant lines and uncommon shapes of the De Bethune design code, the brand is also experimenting with its own take on the influence of car racing with the manufacture caliber AUTOV2. Maintaining the unusual case cut-out case silhouette and dial design of its predecessors, the new  DB27 Titan Hawk JPS brings an edgy approach to the collection.

For the DB27 Titan Hawk JPS, the brand opts for a 43mm black zirconium exterior, which is a robust, hypoallergenic, and lightweight material. In keeping with older models in the Titan Hawk series, the case features a “floating lugs” design, using negative space to lighten its appearance. The lugs also taper to facilitate flexible strap attachment and increasing wearing comfort. Completing the all-black case is the crown, which sits at the 12 o’clock position.

The Roman numeral indices, peripheral seconds track, and hand details are all made from warm gold-tone titanium. De Bethune uses a titanium oxidation technique that gives the metal a yellow hue, providing a strong contrast against the otherwise black timepiece. In the center of the watch is a microlight-shaped decoration that is adorned with the brand name. The dial preserves the straightforward layout as other models in the Titan Hawk collection, using elegant numerals and a sleek colorway to introduce a fresh approach.

Powering the watch is the manufacture caliber AUTOV2 that is inspired by the sophistication and precision of racing-car motors. The mechanism features the De Bethune signature titanium balance and white gold inserts, which are both visible via an exhibition caseback. Generating power from a single mainspring barrel, the AUTOV2 offers a power reserve of 62 hours.

The De Bethune DB27 Titan Hawk JPS (ref. DB27V2JPS) is available via authorized De Bethune retailers with pricing available upon request.
