With the new Duomètre Chronograph Moon, Jaeger-LeCoultre demonstrates once again its outstanding technical expertise in the field of complex chronographs at Watches and Wonders. In 2007, the manufacture developed the Duomètre system to address the problem of complications watches where the power supply from just one barrel mainspring might compromise the accuracy of timekeeping. This patented concept therefore provides two separate escapements and independent gear trains, one for timekeeping and one for the complications.

The new hand-wound Caliber 391, exquisitely skeletonized and meticulously finished, uses this design to combine a monopusher chronograph, accurate to 1/6th of a second, with a moon-phase display and a day/night indicator. It also features two power-reserve displays and a rare seconde foudroyante (flying second), as well as a 50-hour power-reserve for each barrel.

Also new and striking is the 42.5-mm case, consisting of 34 individual parts and a modern interpretation of the sought-after 19th-century savonettes from Jaeger-LeCoultre. The red gold version is paired with a silver-opaline dial, while the platinum version is combined with a copper-colored dial.
