p150Another interesting watch we found at the Las Vegas watch and Jewelry shows was the CEO Diver Multi Function Automatic, from Netherlands-based TW Steel, a relatively young brand that has quickly garnered a following for its big, affordably priced sports watches. TW Steel CEO Jordy Cobelens told us that the watch is the first to use a new automatic mechanical movement, Caliber 9100, developed by the Japanese firm Miyota, part of the Citizen Group of companies. The functions include day, date, month, 24-hour time indication and power-reserve display. The movement features Incabloc shock protection, 26 jewels, and a rotor engraved with the TW Steel logo. The watches are available in either 44-mm or 48-mm diameter titanium cases. Their divers' bezels have a sandblasted PVD dark titanium plating and raised numerals with a contrasting shiny finish. They have sapphire crystals and silicone straps and are water-resistant to 100 meters. And while aficionados of Japanese horology will appreciate the new Miyota movement, they and other watch lovers will also likely appreciate the price: $1,259 for the 44-mm models and $1,329 for the 48-mm models.
