Dive with Elegance: TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300

Many brands that have quite the reputation when it comes to dive watches know how to make this type of timepiece both classy and capable. While most of them are destined to spend the vast majority of their wrist time on land or in shallow waters at best, it doesn't mean that they can slack when we want to explore the deeper end of the pool. The recently introduced TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 seamlessly merges both worlds into a single creation.

This starts with a turquoise dial, which comes to life thanks to a vibrant turquoise wave pattern. This also adds quite a bit of depth to the dial, which is further created by the eight diamond-set hour markers. Set with a brilliant-cut diamond in VS quality, it perfectly knows how to capture the light. This sparkle might even attract some fish when diving; while above water, it will serve as a constant reminder that you wear a very versatile diver watch. With its diameter of 36mm, it can easily be worn by both women and men. However, some might consider to a combination of its size, turquoise dial, and diamonds a bit too feminine for such a robust, divers watch.

Capable is the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300, most certainly. It is water resistant up to 30 ATM/300 meters. Bold sword hands filled with Super-Luminova ensure legibility under all circumstances. The unidirectional bezel is made from black ceramic and contrasts nicely with the turquoise dial. The buckle, which is fitted on both the stainless steel bracelet and rubber strap, sets the standard in the industry. It is released when two buttons are pushed, while the fine adjustment system ensures superb wearing comfort.

This TAG Heuer is powered by caliber 5, which runs at 4Hz and offers a power reserve of 38 hours. While an ample performer, a slightly higher power reserve would be welcome. The movement is not visible, as TAG Heuer opted for a closed caseback with an engraving of a divers helmet. The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 is priced at $3,800 on a bracelet.
