As anticipation builds for the 38th America’s Cup, scheduled to take place in Naples in 2027, Panerai is celebrating its long-standing partnership with the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli sailing team via two new additions to the Luminor Luna Rossa collection. The new Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono PAM01768 and Luminor Luna Rossa GMT PAM01791 translate the spirit of competitive sailing into two distinct timepieces, each powered by a manufacture movement and presented in Panerai’s signature cushion-shaped case with the highly distinctive crown-protection device. While one focuses on precision timing and speed measurement, the other adds practical dual-time functionality. Both models share a refined monochromatic aesthetic dominated by silver, gray, and white tones, punctuated by carefully placed red and orange accents that reference the visual identity of the Luna Rossa team.

The limited-edition Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono PAM01768 is housed in Panerai’s iconic 44mm cushion-shaped steel case with a brushed finish and polished bezel. Water-resistant to 100 meters, the watch remains instantly recognizable thanks to the brand’s signature crown-protecting bridge and red chronograph pushers on the left side of the case.

Powering the watch is the automatic manufacture Caliber P.9210, developed and assembled at Panerai’s Neuchâtel manufacture. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and equipped with a single barrel, the movement delivers a 42-hour power reserve.

The silver sun-brushed sandwich dial reinforces the watch’s monochrome character. Rhodium-toned details, gray counters, and white Superluminova X2 create a clean, technical appearance, while concentric azurage finishing on the sub dials adds depth and visual interest. A tachymeter scale on the rehaut enables sailors to calculate average speed over a measured distance, underscoring the model’s connection to competitive racing.

Limited to 500 pieces, the watch is delivered on a new gray Velcro strap developed specifically for the Luna Rossa collection, along with an additional black rubber strap. Pricing is set at $11,500 USD.

Joining the collection is the more compact Luminor Luna Rossa GMT PAM01791, with its 40mm cushion-shaped steel case retaining the unmistakable Luminor design language.

Inside beats the automatic manufacture Caliber P.900/GMT, a slim movement measuring just 5.2mm in height. The movement offers a three-day power reserve and features a practical GMT function for tracking a second time zone. Visible through the sapphire case back, the caliber also incorporates a stop-seconds mechanism for precise time setting.

Like the chronograph, the GMT model adopts a largely monochromatic color palette with a silver sun-brushed sandwich dial, white luminous markings, and subtle gray accents. The standout detail is the central bright orange GMT hand, inspired by the shape of Luna Rossa’s sails and designed to provide instant legibility against the otherwise restrained dial.

Another first for the Luna Rossa collection is the integrated steel bracelet. Featuring Panerai’s PAM Click release system, it allows tool-free strap changes and adds versatility to a watch equally suited to everyday wear and international travel. Pricing is set at $11,400.
