Alpina takes a decisive step into solar technology with the new Alpiner Extreme Solarmetre. Developed in collaboration with movement specialist La Joux-Perret, this sports marks a technological turning point for the brand, bringing sustainable energy and long-term autonomy into the rugged Alpiner Extreme collection. Housed in a 37.50mm x 38.90mm stainless steel case, the Solarmetre pairs everyday practicality with the brand’s signature outdoor-ready design.

At its heart is the Swiss-made AL-140 solar quartz caliber, capable of delivering an exceptional ten months of power reserve without any exposure to light.1 Just one minute of light is sufficient to run the watch for an entire day, while a full charge ensures months of uninterrupted operation. For long-term storage, pulling out the crown extends autonomy to as much as four years.

A key innovation lies in the translucent dial, which discreetly integrates photovoltaic cells while preserving the refined, opaque look associated with traditional Alpina dials. The surface is decorated with the brand’s iconic triangular motif and features applied hour markers and luminescent hands for optimal legibility. Subtle blue accents— around the logo at 12 o’clock and on the seconds hand’s counterweight— signal the watch’s place within Alpina’s new solar technology range.

True to the spirit of the Alpiner Extreme, the robust three-part stainless steel case is water-resistant to 100 meters and protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The Solarmetre is offered in five nature-inspired dial colors, including burgundy, mint green, light blue, navy blue, and frosted white, paired with either a steel bracelet or a textured rubber strap.
