A Dune White Dial and a New Case Size: Tudor Expands the Ranger Collection

New variants broaden Tudor’s original expedition watch with a smaller case size and a cool dial color.

Tudor expands its Ranger collection with two noteworthy additions: a 36mm version of the brand’s purpose-built tool watch and a new dial execution called Dune White. Designed for durability in harsh environments, the Ranger has its roots in the 1950s, when Tudor watches accompanied the British North Greenland Expedition. Today, the model’s legacy continues in the dunes of Saudi Arabia’s Empty Quarter with the Dakar Rally, underscoring its long-standing connection to exploration under extreme conditions. Tudor now offers the watch in a fully brushed 36mm stainless-steel case alongside the existing 39mm version. A Dune dial joins the grained, matt black option as a permanent addition to the lineup, bringing a lighter, more contemporary aesthetic while subtly referencing Tudor’s partnership with the Dakar Rally.

Made from satin-brushed 316L stainless steel, the 36mm version has a thickness of 11mm, while the 39mm version measures 12mm thick. Both versions feature a fixed, smooth bezel in 316L steel and a screw-down crown engraved with the Tudor rose emblem. Water resistance for both models is rated to 100 meters

The domed dials are furnished with hour markers and the characteristic Ranger-style hands coated in Superluminova Grade A. Inside the 36mm model ticks the manufacture caliber MT5400, while the 39mm version houses the manufacture caliber MT5402. Both movements are self-winding with bidirectional rotors and offer a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. Each one is officially certified as a Swiss chronometer by the COSC and features a variable-inertia balance with micro-adjustment screws, a non-magnetic silicon balance spring, and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.
