Favre Leuba Unveils the Chief Skeleton
Available in seven iterations
In recent years, Favre Leuba has undergone a dynamic transformation, and The Chief Skeleton stands as a testament to this evolution. It unites the brand’s signature cushion-shaped Chief case with an open-worked movement, offering an enthralling view into the beating heart of the watch. The launch collection includes seven variations, three with gold-plated movements and four in anthracite gray, each designed to showcase the mechanics in captivating detail. In addition, The Chief Skeleton shines with densely applied SuperLuminova C1 X1 on the hour markers and hands, which emit a striking blue glow in the dark.

Produced exclusively for Favre Leuba and skeletonized by AMT, Sellita’s manufacture arm, the self-winding movement offers a study in contrasts: bridges alternate between rounded and straight, intersecting delicately, while fine vertical brushing adds subtle texture. The technical and optical highlights are the oversized balance at 6 o’clock anchored by a striking bridge and the open-worked mainspring barrel at 11:30 revealing its coil. Through the sapphire case back, the Chief Skeleton unveils its two distinct calibers: FLS01 in a refined gold finish and FLS02 in a bold black chrome DLC finish. The open-worked architecture showcases layered bridges and a custom-designed balance wheel, all rendered with horizontal brushing and snailing. Additionally, colimaçonnage, or snail finishing, embellishes the visible bridges and the skeletonized rotor. With a 41-hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the calibers bring precision to a display crafted for visual impact.

Favre LeubaThe intricate movement is housed in Favre Leuba’s signature Chief case, instantly recognizable for its cushion shape. Measureing 40mm in diameter and 11.76mm thick, it is water resistant to 100 meters. The watch comes in seven references. Both the steel case with gilded movement and the black DLC case with anthracite movement are available in black, blue, or green accents. A standout seventh version pairs a black DLC case with an ice-blue dial, complemented by a black FKM rubber strap. Thanks to an easy-change system, all straps can be exchanged without tools.
Pricing is marked at $4,500 for the steel iterations and at $4,600 for the DLC-coated variants.
