With the 1800 Titandamaszener, the German watchmaker Sinn once again demonstrates its expertise and innovative spirit in the field of materials science. This sporty and elegant three-hand watch has a case made of titanium damask, a material that is the result of a symbiosis between an ancient old craft and cutting-edge technology. The captivating pattern ensures that each of the 100 pieces is a unique piece.

When you look at the 1800 Titandamaszener as a whole, its uniqueness shines through in both its form and its appearance. To enhance the characteristic texture of damask titanium - a dynamic pattern of alternating light and dark areas - the dial, with its blue and luminous blue applied hour markers and hands and date window at 3 o'clock, is machined in one piece from a solid block of damask metal. This technique creates an aesthetic harmony that carries the damask pattern from the dial throughout the case. Thanks to Sinn's Tegiment technology, the 43mm case is also scratch-resistant, pressure-resistant to ten bar and low-pressure resistant.

The traditional production of this type of titanium, using grades 2 and 5, is highly complex, and combines ancient blacksmithing techniques with modern manufacturing processes. The metals are layered and welded together by fire, then forged, halved while still hot and the two pieces 'folded' back together. The final step is to etch the surface to reveal the damask pattern. The different acid treatment of titanium grades 2 and 5 creates the distinctive hues. Given the high chemical resistance of titanium, this process is particularly demanding.

The result justifies the effort: the 1800 Titandamaszener is a rare fusion of technology, craftsmanship and aesthetics. Powered by the SW300-1 automatic calibre, the watch comes with a vintage-style black calfskin strap and a grey nubuck wild boar leather strap and is priced at €9,890 or approximately $10,600 when converted to USD.
