Citizen Marks 50 Years of Eco-Drive with Anniversary Endeavor Chrono and Fio Models

Citizen celebrates five decades of Eco-Drive technology with two anniversary releases that highlight the brand’s leadership in light-powered watchmaking: the nautical-inspired Endeavor Chrono for men and the elegantly compact Fio collection for women.

In 2026, Citizen marks the 50th anniversary of its Eco-Drive technology, which is powered by any light source and never requires a battery change. To commemorate the occasion, the brand introduces two distinct anniversary models that showcase the breadth of its light-powered expertise: the Endeavor Chrono, a robust sports chronograph featuring a first-ever ceramic bezel in Citizen’s core collection, and the Fio, equipped with the smallest Eco-Drive movements Citizen has ever produced. Together, they illustrate how Eco-Drive continues to evolve across both performance-driven and design-focused timepieces.

The new Endeavor Chrono presents a bold, maritime-inspired aesthetic paired with Citizen’s proprietary Eco-Drive technology. Measuring 43mm in diameter, the steel case is water-resistant to 100 meters and protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, making it well suited for life on and off the water. A key highlight is the unidirectional rotating bezel with a ceramic insert—the first ceramic bezel ever introduced in Citizen’s core watch collection. Its scalloped edge reinforces the watch’s nautical character, offering practical functionality for timing regattas or tracking elapsed minutes on deck.

The dial features a subtle wave-textured pattern inspired by the motion of the sea. Light passes through the three sub dials to power the Eco-Drive Caliber B620, which offers chronograph functions, a date, and a 24-hour indication including night-and-day time. Applied hour markers with luminescent accents, paired with similarly coated hour and minute hands, ensure clear legibility and effortless everyday usability.

The Endeavor Chrono is available in three references, offered on either a stainless-steel bracelet or a polyurethane strap, with prices ranging from $595 to $650.

For women, Citizen celebrates the Eco-Drive anniversary with the Fio collection, elegant, contemporary timepieces designed around the smallest Eco-Drive movements the brand has ever developed. The Fio line emphasizes refined proportions, versatility, and effortless wearability, while maintaining the same light-powered sustainability that defines Eco-Drive.

The elongated Fio models measure just 14.3 by 30.7mm and feature angled lugs, a raised mineral crystal, and a softly shimmering sunray dial accented by slender sword-style hands. These two-hand watches are powered by the Eco-Drive Caliber G620 and are water-resistant to 30 meters. Designed for stacking and mixing with other watches or jewelry, they balance subtle presence with modern elegance.

Complementing them are the round Fio models, measuring 18.4mm in diameter. Paired with ultra-slim bracelets, sculpted lugs, and faceted mineral crystals, these versions offer a graceful yet contemporary wrist presence. Inside beats the Eco-Drive Caliber G626, again highlighting Citizen’s achievement in miniaturizing light-powered movements without compromising performance.

Depending on configuration–leather strap, mesh, or stainless-steel bracelet—the Fio anniversary models are priced between $275 and $395.
