Lufthansa Colors Meet a Sinn Classic

The Sinn 103 has been part of the Frankfurt-based brand’s pilot’s chronograph collection for decades. For the 103 St Sa Lufthansa, Sinn Spezialuhren gives the familiar design a distinctive new color scheme inspired by the airline’s corporate identity.

The dial and rotating bezel are finished in dark gray, while the subdials incorporate additional elements of the company’s color palette. The chronograph  hands provide a vivid yellow accent. One particularly distinctive detail appears at the tip of the central chronograph seconds hand, which takes the shape of an aircraft cabin window. The hour markers, as well as the hour and minute hands, are coated with luminous material, ensuring clear legibility in low-light conditions.

Pilot’s Watch with Sinn Technologies

The 103 St Sa Lufthansa combines the characteristic features of a pilot’s chronograph with several of Sinn’s technical solutions. Its 41mm stainless-steel case combines polished and satin-finished surfaces and is pressure-resistant to 20 bar. It is also resistant to low pressure and meets the requirements of DIN 8310 for water resistance. The sapphire crystal is antireflective on both sides, while the screw-down sapphire crystal caseback offers a view of the finely finished movement. The captive rotating bezel is another practical feature. With its 12-hour scale, it can be used to keep track of a second time zone.

A 62-Hour Self-Winding Chronograph

Powering the watch is the finely finished SW500 self-winding chronograph caliber. The movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a 62-hour power reserve. It is antimagnetic and features a stop-seconds function for precise time setting.

The movement is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, with the rotor carrying the individual limited-edition number and the “100 Jahre Lufthansa” logo. Limited to 100 pieces, the Sinn 103 St Sa Lufthansa comes in a presentation case with both a black leather strap and an olive-gray textile strap. The price is €2,890, or approximately $3,253.
