Glashütte Original PanoMaticCalendar "Blue of Dawn"

Glashütte Original presents a new platinum edition of its sophisticated PanoMaticCalendar, limited to 150 pieces, combining refined mechanics with a vibrant colorway.

Introduced three years ago, the PanoMaticCalendar represents Glashütte Original’s interpretation of the annual calendar complication. Unlike a perpetual calendar, which requires no correction, the annual calendar automatically accounts for the differing lengths of the months with 30 or 31 days. Only once a year, at the transition from February to March, does the wearer need to adjust the date. The new edition captivates with a skeletonized dial in a deep shade of blue that reveals the finely finished manufacture caliber 92-11 beneath and contrasts elegantly with the cool tones of the 42mm platinum case. Its color, poetically dubbed "Blue of Dawn" is inspired by the early morning hours, when the brand’s watchmakers begin their work in the Saxon manufactory.

A Calendar Display with Character

On the right-hand side of the dial, the key indications of the annual calendar are harmoniously arranged: the signature Panorama Date at 4 o’clock, the very cool retrograde month display arching from 3 to 6 o’clock, and a finely crafted moon-phase at 2 o’clock, featuring a hand-finished midnight-blue sky. To balance these displays, the off-centered hours and minutes and the small seconds are positioned on the left. Applied white-gold markers, luminescent accents, and blued hands enhance legibility against the dark blue background.

The beauty of a Glashütte manufacture movement

The skeletonized dial highlights the technical architecture of the automatic caliber 92-11, which beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. A silicon balance spring ensures resistance to temperature fluctuations and magnetic fields, contributing to the excellent chronometric performance. The movement provides a power reserve of 100 hours, combining precision with everyday practicality. Through both the dial side and the transparent sapphire case back of the platinum case, traditional Glashütte fine watchmaking finishes are on full display: the striped three-quarter plate, beveled and polished edges, blued screws, mirror-polished steel components, to name just a few.
