Among the twelve new models and variations Patek Philippe introduces at this year's Watches & Wonders is this new Calatrava in white gold which exudes the kind of vintage style enthusiasts appreciate. Most notably, the three-hand timepiece with date indication brings to life the sought-after Clous de Paris decor that has long been associated with this Bauhaus icon, however not on the bezel but on the case band.

The tiny hobnail style pyramids highlight the slim silhouette of the white gold case that has a contemporary diameter of 40mm and a slim height of 8.53mm. Patek Philippe's designers have also devised a distinctive case construction in which the lugs are an integral part of the case back which allows an unobstructed view onto the caliber 26-330 S C.

This self-winding movement is equipped with a central gold rotor and meticulously finished in accordance with the Patek Philippe Seal.

The charcoal gray dial with a black gradient rim is a feast for the eyes, too. The finely granulated texture makes for a perfect backdrop for the applied Arabic numerals and syringe-style hands with beige luminescent coating. The new reference Reference 5226 comes with two interchangeable straps: one in beige calfskin with a nubuck finish and the other in black calfskin with an embossed fabric motif.
