One year after introducing a new generation of its Aquaracer, TAG Heuer now unveils the Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver at this year's Watches & Wonders. Designed with exceptional performance in mind, the new professional-grade model comes in a 45mm case that is made of titanium grade 5 and water-resistant of up to 1,000 meters. This water resistance is in line with the Heuer 1000m Diver from 1982 and the Super Professional 1000m from 1984. Equipped with a helium-escape valve, the timepiece has received ISO 6425:2018 certification for saturation diver’s watches. It is also notable that the professional diver's watch is driven by an exclusive automatic caliber supplied by the Kenissi Manufacture SA.

This Swiss movement manufacturer, which also produces calibers for Tudor, Chanel and Norqain, supplies the automatic caliber TH30-00 with a C.O.S.C. chronometer certificate. It ticks behind a closed case back with an engraved diving motif.

As is crucial for a professional diver's watch, the black dial is all about legibility and the distinction of the different elements. TAG Heuer opted for a black sunray brushed background with the signature horizontal stripes. The hour hand is executed in the form of an arrow and bolder than the one of the classic Aquaracer Professional 300. The minute and second hands are bright orange, as are the first 15 minutes on the ceramic bezel. By the way, the Aquaracer Superdiver 1000 uses the highest grade of Super-LumiNova, SLN Grade X1, which is extremely powerful and bright and allows for optimal legibility even at great depths.

Aquaracer enthusiasts will notice that the date cyclops has been replaced by a simple window at 6 o'clock. It was removed for technical reasons, as the technology for mounting under the sapphire crystal has become difficult to maintain for such a high water resistance. The Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver is scheduled to hit the stores in July 2022, with an approximate price of $6,650.
