The July/August 2026 issue of WatchTime Magazine — our Summer issue — moves from the ocean to the open road and even into orbit, bringing together watches built for diving, driving, travel, and the personal milestones that give a collection its meaning.

Victorinox Reimagines the Maverick

Leading the new issue is the freshly redesigned Victorinox Maverick collection. The updated family includes automatic and quartz models, with cleaner dials, more balanced proportions, and a clearer focus on everyday versatility.

At the center of the collection is the Maverick Automatic. It pairs a 39mm stainless-steel case with a ceramic bezel insert, a Sellita SW200-1 movement, and 200 meters of water resistance. The result is a more capable sports watch, but also a more refined one, with a design that works just as naturally during travel or daily wear as it does outdoors. Our cover story looks at how Victorinox reworked the Maverick and how the company’s expanding watchmaking capabilities shaped the new collection.

Orlando Bloom on the Watches That Marked His Career

Orlando Bloom discusses the watches that have marked important films, milestones, and periods in his life.

The issue also includes a wide-ranging conversation with Orlando Bloom, whose collection has developed alongside his career. Bloom discusses the watches he bought to mark important films and personal milestones, including an engraved IWC Big Pilot connected to Elizabethtown. He also shares his interest in Rolex, Porsche Design, and vintage watches discovered before he became a Hollywood star.

His approach is less about completing a checklist than preserving memories. Each watch connects to a particular role, reward, or period in his life, offering a more personal view of how collections take shape over time.

Rolex Refines the Daytona and Day-Date

Rolex takes another prominent place in the issue with a closer look at the latest Cosmograph Daytona and Day-Date 40 editions launched earlier this year. Rather than introducing entirely new forms, the brand concentrates on materials and execution.

The latest Day-Date introduces Jubilee Gold, a proprietary alloy with a tone that moves between yellow, gray, and pink. The Daytona, meanwhile, combines a grand feu enamel dial with an anthracite-colored ceramic bezel. Together, the watches show how relatively restrained visual changes can involve substantial technical work.

More From the Summer Issue: Cars, Complications, and More

“Driving Time” explores the lasting connection between watches and cars through their shared focus on design, engineering, and performance.

Elsewhere, our “Driving Time” article examines the enduring relationship between watches and cars. The story looks beyond familiar racing sponsorships to explore the mechanical, cultural, and design connections that continue to draw collectors to both.

The issue’s technical reviews cover three very different watches. The IWC Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month was developed with commercial spaceflight in mind, using a vertical display and 24-hour scale to reflect the unusual experience of time in orbit.

The Formex Reef combines 300 meters of water resistance with a COSC-certified movement and tool-free systems for changing both the bezel and bracelet. The Sinn 903 Ti II Jubiläum brings together a lightweight titanium case, slide-rule bezel, 200 meters of water resistance, and a column-wheel chronograph movement. Limited to 500 pieces, it also delivered strong results in our timing tests.

Additional highlights include a look back at 50 years of Citizen Eco-Drive, a celebration of the Patek Philippe Nautilus at 50, the return of the Cartier Roadster, the Oris Artelier Complication, new Favre Leuba Deep Raider models, and ten women’s watches worth a closer look.

The issue also goes behind the scenes of WatchTime New York to show how North America’s largest luxury watch event comes together, from brand participation and programming to the work required before the doors open.

From accessible sports watches and high watchmaking to celebrity collecting, automotive culture, and hands-on testing, the Summer 2026 issue offers a broad view of the watches and stories shaping the year.
